footieforest “It is not your fault, you know …?”
Sergio looked up from the spot on the floor he was staring on and met Iker’s gaze which lay on him.
“I know that in here, yes …,” the defender replied wistfully and tapped against his own temple. “But I’m not quite getting this part right here to understand that as well …” Now Sergio was tapping against his chest.
Silently, Iker sat down next to Sergio, unto the cold tiles of the locker room, and embraced him warmly, understanding his lover perfectly.
“Next time, we will, I promise you this. … Next time. … ”

Title: I wake up in the middle of the night
Pairing: Raúl / Guti
Rating: R

commentporn Guti wakes up with a shout.
A shout, and an increasing spot damping the fabric of his shorts.
A shout, only a name, really.
And at the same time, everything but just a name.
The creed he has lived by for years now, the thought he's never thought to an end but always played around with in his head, forming an idea out of this word, building his dreams on a basis this word built for them, an epitome of everything he has loved and still loves.
Guti wakes up, with 'Raúl' on his lips.
It tastes salty on his tongue. Almost like tears.

Title: Home

_runningmascara Sometimes, when he doesn't spend attention on something in particular, when there is no practice, no match, no car drive to occupy his mind with anything, really, Karim finds himself sitting and wondering, his thoughts travelling back.
He always thinks of 'home' in these moments and what it meant, remembers the sting of Marseille in winter and its sweetness in spring, thinks about the familiar language - which he has come to appreciate ever since he's come to Madrid - flowing around him, thinks about good times and better days. Regretting is easy, so very easy in these moments, and if Karim does not spend attention on his thoughts, he finds himself constantly repeating 'what if', 'what if', 'what if'.
What if he stayed where people trusted him, what if he stayed were confidence guided his actions and set him free?
It is always in these moments that Esteban's true magic comes into action, finding Karim when he's looming in these shadows of the past and almost a clear and distinguished talent of the young Spaniard. As well as the ability of surrounding himself with an atmosphere of home all around him, leaving Karim no other option than to be wrapped up in this feeling as well.
Esteban's true magic; how he never gets tired of trying to teach Karim how to play the guitar, how his gaze on Karim is always as soft as the smooth skin of his back feels against Karim's chest, how it is always Esteban who never fails to make him laugh.
And how not feeling content - happy even - with his current situation is impossible - as long as Esteban is part of this situation, this new way of living.

Title: Take this all away, I'm suffocating
Pairing: Guti / Esteban Granero
Rating: PG-13

footieforest ... and I really wonder how long it will take me to get over it, eventually.
A locker room filled with men, not as cheerful as they usually were but still anything but quiet.
And yet it only needed them one whisper, barely audible over the noise, to silence them.
"I fucking hate you for doing this to us..."
Time stopped for a moment as nothing seemed to change. Everything seemed to freeze.
Suddenly, everyone was staring at Esteban, who in return was staring at Guti, mercilessly. Showing them a side of himself none of them had ever known; probably a side Guti had always sensed it was there and had been afraid to touch it.
Well, now he had.
"Este, I don't think ...," Karim tried to interrupt his friend, but the young Spaniard simply shook his hand off as he stepped up and forward, towards Guti. All the way, his eyes weren't leaving Guti's.
"So what, don't you want to say anything? Just because no one has said it in your face yet, it doesn't mean none of us thinks it. And now I say it. ... Now tell me, what will you make out of this? ..."
Time was still stopping, it seemed, as Guti now dropped his head. And none of them was sure whether they had imagined something wet glinting in the corners of his eyes or not.
"Esteban, I'm ... listen, I'm sorry ..."
"Oh yes, you are?", Esteban was almost spitting the words out now, and Guti wasn't the only one who jerked at hearing them. "Well, here's news for you: I'm not buying that anymore..."
And with that, Esteban was rushing out of the locker room, leaving another fallen angel and a speechless audience behind.

footieforest "Come here."
He was pulled backwards into an embrace, his bare back meeting a broad, comforting and even bare chest.
"Don't think."
A thumb pressed into his shoulder blade.
"Let go of it."
A hand sneaked around his waist, aiming directly at his shorts.
"Be mine tonight."
And Iker came. Only from hearing these words out of David's mouth.

footieforest ... hm. Probably I should just give it a rest. ....
“You’ll manage … of course you will, how can you think you won’t…?” Raúl’s voice was just as caressing as his gentle hands, stroking and soothing Sergio’s face, petting his hair. “You were born for this, Sergio, we knew it ever since … you’re meant to captain this team … why do you doubt it, still?”
“I know …,” Sergio breathed, hiding his face in Raúl’s hands, “But I'm afraid to believe this. … Because if I believe you, if I accept, that means you’ll be leaving. Guti will leave and so will you, won’t you?”
Raúl’s nod was genuine.

footieforest “How dare you, David, how do you even dare considering …”
Sergio knew he was taking it too far, felt the whole locker room’s gazes, staring at him astonished and shocked. How dared he, really? But the young defender couldn’t care less at that moment. This sudden anger eating him up from the inside wasn’t new to him, but this time it was too urgent to swallow it down. He didn’t want to swallow it down, after all.
“You … you can’t do that to him. You can’t leave, David, you mustn’t. You mustn’t!!”

Character: Sergio Canales

footieforest Sergio smiled.
When he travelled to Madrid, when he signed his contract, the first time he trained with his new team, the first time he played for them, the first time he sat on the bench and witnessed his teammates work their magic. He smiled through it all.
Smiling was the best way to pretend that he was secure, that he felt at ease, that all was well.
Truth was, behind the boyish smile, he was still all too shy. Everything still felt too less like home. And maybe just that inch bigger than he had expected it to feel.

footieforest It started with a kiss.
It always did.
To say that they couldn’t do without it was on the one hand probably exaggerated, on the other hand, though, it had been years since they had started a game together on one pitch without a peck on the cheeks.
It started with a kiss, and all out of sudden it didn’t matter whether the opponent was Betis or Valencia, whether they played at home or in a foreign stadium, whether it was La Liga or the Copa.
It started with a kiss and for one moment, they were all that existed.

Pairing: Karim Benzema / Esteban Granero
Rating: PG

footieforest Esteban was in no good mood after the game, everyone could tell that. Though overall the atmosphere in the locker room was quiet and felt more like the atmosphere after a loss did, the man who scored their equalizer seemed even more worked up than his teammates.
As usual, though, Esteban did not show too much of that on the outside. But his replies to questions addressed at him were short and snappy, his gaze stern and empty.
Karim did not make the same mistakes all the others did, he did not try approaching the winger and congratulating him for his goal. Instead, the Frenchman waited for some minutes, until they all had boarded the plane that was ought to bring them back home, to Madrid.
Esteban sat alone in a row, curled up against the seat already - even if they had boarded barely 5 minutes before, his back turned to the aisle a more than just obvious gesture of wanting to be alone.
Karim ignored the quiet request, though, knowing exactly what was going on in the Spaniard’s mind.
He shivered as Karim stroked his back, Karim could feel that himself, but at least Esteban made no effort of squirming away from him or asking him to leave. He did not change something about his position, though.
As quiet and careful as he could, Karim slid into the seat next to Esteban’s, his hand never leaving the small of his teammate’s back. As soon as he sat, he started stroking it very lightly, barely putting pressure behind the touch.
“Est-ce que tu veux dormir maintenant?”, he asked, being aware of Esteban’s weak spot for French since a couple of weeks now.
“No. … Yes. I’d like to go asleep now and wake up this morning all over again, so I could change things …,” Esteban replied, the idea forming in his mind obviously too complex to express in his - still limited - French. “But I know that’s not possible, so it’s futile to hope something like this could happen …”
Karim smiled sadly, unnoticed by Esteban whose gaze was directed out of the window now, where nothing was to be seen but the dark outside and the reflection of lights in the glass.
“It was not your fault alone, you know that, yes? … It was our fault …”
“Doesn’t make things better, does it?”
And to this reply, Karim had no answer, not even a French one.
