I just got back from Katie's where we tried to connect her internet but it did not work:(
Tonite was fun. I went to dinner with my family, PQ Ken, Katie and my brother and sister's friends Cole and Taylor. We went to this italian place in Encinetas/Leucadia called Zabibbo's. The food was alright, some liked their dishes, some did not. I got Halibut and it wasn't too bad.
This weekend has been fun so far: on Thursday Ken, Katie and I drove up to Riverside to my apartment. We did a bit of shopping at target and Ralphs and then ordered pizza hut. Katie and Ken played video games while I did the bills... woohoo.
On Friday we went snowboarding at Snow Summit in Big Bear. We were originally going to go to Mountain High but we decided we may as well go to Big Bear since the drive is only about 20 minutes longer.
The drive up wasn't the best, only because I have an immense fear of dying by driving off a windy mountain cliffside, and the whole ride was along a windy mountain cliffside. Not to mention we were in a high profile SUV and it was windy, and the other people on the road go intensely aggressive during the sections of Passing lanes. But I just paced myself and got us all up there in one piece.
When we got up there it was about 39 degrees and very sunny, great boarding weather. We warmed up on an easy run for Katie, but it wasn't like she needed it since she did amazingly well. I've never seen anyone pick up snowboarding as quickly as she has, it is quite remarkable... it was only her second time too!
The drive home was even scarier than the drive up because we were on the cliffside more frequently than on the drive up and the brakes on the Yukon felt like they were about to go. About halfway through the decent down the mountain, whenever I braked the steering where would vibrate uncontrollably. I'm not sure what the problem was but it defintely needs to go in to the shop for a few other issues it's been having. We pulled over a few times to let the brakes rest and cool and just took it easy on the way home. Despite the braking/driving issues, the Yukon got great gas mileage, but that's probably because during the downward decent I never touched the gas once. After the trek down to mountain we hit some heavy traffic on the 215 and I managed to screw up and miss the exit to the 215 South... this turned out to bite me in the but, or should I say the bladder. I had to pee SO badly on the way back and the traffic and missing the exit did not help. By the time we got back to my apartment I had to pee so badly that I illegally parked and went as quickly as I could to the bathroom. I have never ever had to pee so badly, that sucked!
When we got home we were so freaking tired that we went to bed at 8:30, I don't think I've gone to sleep that early since I was six.
Saturday we woke up and then I cleaned and took Katie and I to get lunch, then I cleaned more and Katie watched Ken play video games and then we drove back, went to dinner and then went to Katie's and now I'm back here.
Now I'm going to shower and start packing for the UK... I leave Wednesday woohoo!
