(no subject)
so for the past week my home has been sans the internet and our home phone working. we have time warner, which provides internet, cable and phone, but what was really weird is that we still had cable, but our phone and internet wasn't working. but someone came out today and fixed it, and things are back to normal.
work has been gross. i am really disliking it more and more as the days go on. there's the whole getting my paycheck through a debit card, and having to push things on people, and all the rules about renting r-rated movies and adult movies, but i'm on my feet all day, which chubby girls were not made for.
yesterday i sent out a resume to a veterinary office that needs a receptionist. i'm really hoping they over look the fact i have no experience and still hire me. that would be awesome!
as for work, i worked monday and yesterday, and i got the rest of the week of, though i'm thinking about heading up to rent some movies/video games since i get three rentals free at a time. i want to re-rent the orange box so i can finally beat portal.
this weekend is pretty free, which makes me happy. maybe i can talk teri and ash into going to see Hellboy II this weekend. tommy said he didn't like it, but i don't care. i still want to see it. i love hellboy.
so the bad news i got in the last few days was about the gallery job at owens. i e-mailed my old boss, wynn a couple weeks ago. i had texted janice, a girl i'm friends with you worked there as well and she said that they would be hiring for the fall semester, so i knew they needed help. well, i wrote wynn and said that i was coming back for a few semesters and was looking for a job and that i'd like to come back to the gallery, plus she knows i'm already trained for it.
well, when we finally got the internet back, i check my e-mail and she'd written me back.
I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I know how competitive the graphics word is. You did some great work for me and should be able to us that in your portfolio. Good luck with your search. Let me know if IO can help in any way.
Unfortunately I have already offered the position to someone else for the fall. I look forward to seeing you on campus and hello to Katie.

for some reason, that first paragraph is really bugging me. i can't really say why, but it's really pissing me off. but in the end, no job there. so yeah, the moral of the story is i'm stuck at movie gallery until someone gives me another, better job.
