Bertha...

Bertha is still going believe it or not. She can't manage to take the hint that maybe it's time to die already. Yesterday she broke the record for the longest living storm in July in the Atlantic basin. Oh boy! She had such potential, and now she's just sitting there and spinning. She's supposed to get caught up by another front that is due to pass by today. I suppose we'll see what happens then...

I showed my FIL the http://weatherangel.com site. He never gave an opinion on it, so I don't know if he liked it or not. I'd like to get the google map api going in the new version so I can add the tracks I have in the DB to a map and show storm tracks long after the images from other sites are no longer valid. The other thing that I want to do is create a feed of the data (not like it's needed since the NHC has one somewhere) for each of the storms. It would be mostly for students, so they can pull the data and work with it however they like programmatically. I have a science teacher that links to my site too. I also need to get the Indian ocean and the South Pacific back up on the site. I am still pulling the tracks, but not displaying them at this time.

All in time, and with the new extension I'm writing for Joomla 1.5x.
