a dress fit for a Gryffindor

et voila!

well, it's almost finished, i just need to sew on the snaps in the back.  it was supposed to be a button, i did the yf, but when i finished, no hole.  i don't know if i did it wrong or if i messed up in picking up the stitches for the neckband (which btw, i totally love the picot bind off).  the pattern is the picot dress from Debbie Bliss' Special Knits.  the red isn't quite so orange and the gold is more yellow.  i used red heart sport in cherry red and yellow.  i know, POA pattern in more SS colors, but i like the more narrow stripes and i think SS colors are more book accurate (just my opinion).  it's nor perfect but i'm pleased.  i learned quite a bit doing this as it was my first non-scarf/hat/blanket project.  several firsts on this.  i just wanted to share.  after i get my boyfriend's hat done and the afghan for my BIL, i have a Ravenclaw hat planned for myself.  i'm still debating whether or not to turn my son's hat into a Hufflepuff project or not.  he LOVES yellow.  i need to find out if he'll mind if i sneak in a couple black rows...  :-)  anyway.  now i feel like a real part of the community.  i finally had somehting to show!
