Man, it's been almost a year since I posted to here!
I always have lame cut text. ^^;
This would be the first photo taken of my project. Yup, another bag is in the runnings.
I kind of wimped on this one actually. The purse itself is a (knitting) pattern from the book Folk Bags. I took the time to make up the chart though. Used a different "font" for "Weasley" at first, but it didn't look right at that gauge. Also, I wimped again and went the duplicate stitch route instead of intarsia. ^^; But the pattern called for some techniques I hadn't tried before (like the knitted on i-cord around the flap), so maybe not so much a wimp?
This would be a close-up (while it was still hanging outside) in case you guys wanted a closer view of the flap. It's a little curly. ^^; If anyone wants me to, I could probably make an actual chart in paint or something for you.
This shot was so you could see the openning, of course. I've been waffling over whether I'll line it or not. Besides needing to get back on speaking terms with the sewing machine, there's the whole chosing the right fabric. And I think it's got sort of weird seams for lining anyway, but mostly the fabric bit... Could you tell I'm an indecisive crafter?
And one last picture:
This was mostly another way to show how big it is. (I like big bags and I cannot lie?) I was a little worried at first that the opening might not be wide enough for the book to fit, but it did. Somehow, I forgot knitting stretches anyway. ^^;
Of course, now that I look at them, I realize that I haven't squared off the bottom corners, but I don't quite care about that part right now. I'm too "yay, done!" ^^;
So, there you go.
