Gryffie wrist warmer

I'm not a new member, I'm llama4prez15 here under another username ;) I'm using this one now so... right. Anyway.

I know one of the first things I saw that really intrigued me on atypically.knit was the idea of house colored wrist warmers. So, finally after much procrastination, I tweaked a pattern I found in a magazine and made one. ((Just one for now, I'm amazed I finished it)). I'm a really slow knitter, so it'll be ages before I can finish the other one. I'll post a few pics ((I'm a bad photographer too XD)).

Tweaked from a pattern for wrist warmers in FamilyCircle EasyKnitting Fall 2004:

Gauge:
16 sts and 20 rows to 4"/10cm over St st using size 8 (5mm) needles
Stripe pattern:
Working in St st, *work stripe of darker color measuring 1 1/4"/3cm, stripe of lighter color measuring 1 1/4"/3cm, repeat from * ending with stripe of darker color
Right Warmer:
With darker color, cast on 32 sts. Work in garter st for 3 rows. P 1 row. Work in St st until stripe measures approx 1-1 1/4"/3cm, end with a WS row.
Thumb Opening:
Next row (RS) - Switch to lighter color. K10, join a 2nd ball of yarn (of same color) and work to end. Working both sides at once, work even until stripe measures 1 1/4"/3cm, switch to darker color and work a RS row with 1 ball to close opening.
Rest of Warmer:
Work in St st, making stripes approx. 1 1/4"/3cm wide, alternating between darker and lighter color. End on darker color row. Bind off and stitch seam.
Left Warmer:
Work as for righth warmer to thumb opening
Next row (RS) - K22, join a 2nd ball of yarn (of same color) and work to end. Work as for right warmer to end.

I hope that makes sense. I pretty much copied it from the magazine except for changing the pattern and getting rid of the weird design they had going on in theirs.

EDIT: Better pictures added.

knitting, pattern, mittens gloves wristbands etc.
