Hey folks, this was meant to go up earlier but, er, I was felled by an unexpected nap.
When is the tutorial due?: When you confirm you will write a tutorial, you pledge to post it on any Wednesday during the month agreed upon.
What if I can't get it done in time?: If you know you won't be able to complete and post the tutorial in time, please let me know as soon as possible, preferably before the third week of the month, so I have time to replace it.
What if I can't post on a Wednesday?: The idea of posting them all on Wednesdays is to make them slightly predictable for the readership. If you can't make a Wednesday, Tuesday or Thursday are OK, but please try to avoid it.
Can I get you to beta the tutorial?: Yes, just email it to me, but keep in mind that I may not know the subject matter well and so might not be of that much use. Also, if sending it to me to beta, indicate if you just want proofreading or if you want actual constructive criticism. The more thorough a review you want, the more time you'll need to give me, too; common sense minimum is 3 days before you want to post it for bare bones proofing.
Will you tell me what the other tutorial in my month will be?: Yep, once I know, I'll let people know. If you'd like to coordinate something, feel free. Sometimes the topics will overlap or compliment, sometimes they'll be pretty much unrelated.
This is sounds easy enough, can I write volunteer/write more than one?: Yes, please! Just comment here or email me at djinnj@ gmail.com to sign up. Give me your email address and let me know the subject matter(s) and and an idea of your availability.
There are two tutorials planned for September, but, um, they're not ready yet. They will be up before the end of the month, however.
Additionally, we're currently booked through April. Even so, I could use some backups in case folks need to pull out for some reason and I wouldn't say "no" to folks willing to schedule for May and onward. May will be here sooner than we think.
And lastly, any questions? Comments?
