Friday & Saturday (Milwaukee) Sunday (November 20th)
Day two of the Hanson weekend! We got home around 7 on Sunday morning, and crashed into bed for a few hours. I still felt like crap, but after sleeping in a bed and a hot shower (and medicine up the whazoo) I felt ready to face the day. Krystal had done some research and found out that the documentary was being shown at the University of Minnesota...and it was open to the public. So we trekked over to the screening.
It had already started by the time we got there, so we plunked our butts down on the floor, in the middle of the aisle and sang/clapped along with all the songs in the background while picking out bits that had been edited in (and out) since Mayfest. Once the lights came back up, the evil people made us go find seats for the Q&A. And this, my fellows...is where I met
devil_does_cry! Krystal and I were scouting for seats and all of the sudden I hear my name! So that was fun. And the Q&A was....interesting. Kind of boring. Taylor and Isaac droned on and on and on and on and ON about the SAME THING. A couple good quotes were said on that day, mostly belonging to Mr. Isaac.
-"I'm a pretty cocky bastard."
and then this little gem:
Girl: "What's in the cup?" *points to Isaac's Starbucks cup*
Isaac: "Umm..it's a girly drink. A toffee nut latte. But it has an extra shot!"
Taylor: "Extra shot. Grrrrr." *strikes a muscle man pose*
I got a couple of REALLY bad, and REALLY dark pictures, so here you are.
We filled out a survey and got a free copy of Underneath for doing so. (Um...like I REALLY need another copy of that CD. I think it's in Krystal's car right now..) Then we all went to Pizza Hut. Yum.
In Milwaukee, we had gone into a Wal*Greens and bought cards for each of the boys. They were quite funny. We printed off pictures of ourselves to put on the inside, and wrote random messages. I can't remember exactly what they all said, but here's the basic gist. Amy took pictures...but I don't have them. Woe. (ETA: I stooooooooole them from her LJ post. :D)
-Isaac's card said "Sometimes I really wish we had back-up singers" on the outside. Inside it said "but other than that, things are really pretty good." We wrote 'JUST KIDDING CLARKEY! (unless you're taking applications!) Thanks for hours of amusment during our roadtrips. The turtle dance, In The Road...' and something else. But I forget.
-Taylor's card said "How can you walk around without a CAUTION: HOT warning all over you?" Inside was "IS THAT LEGAL???" Then we wrote something about 'thank you for giving us reasons to be fans...'
-Zac's card was some mushy love thing, I can't remember what it said (ETA: It says "Love isn't in the falling.) But we wrote: "Dear Zachary, reasons we fell in love with you:
1.) Your lips
2.) Your beautiful arse
3.) The way you bang that drum. Please thank your mother for the first two."
So after we got the cards all situated, we headed toward the venue. Right around this time was when I started getting REALLY nervous. I had butterflies. It was bad. Krystal and I dropped Carleen and Amy off in front of the venue and then went to get a parking spot a few blocks away. Since we had the M&G, we didn't have to worry about standing in line. We hurried to The Quest and joined the M&G group at the front of the venue. I was too cold to really concentrate on being nervous...but once they let us into the building and ushered us upstairs, the butterflies returned full-force.
Of course, Krystal and I were in the first group to go in. We walk through this door (and of course, it's all freaking dark everywhere) and I see these 3 people standing across the room. I gripped Krystal's arm and said "Krystal. I'm SCARED of Hanson!" pretty loudly, I think they heard me. I was petrified.
We went up to Zac first, I think I just kind of shoved my CD at him, shook his hand, said thanks and then moved on to Taylor. Now, Taylor Hanson is gorgeous in pictures. When you're standing 10 inches away from him, he's absolutely breathtaking. I looked at his face, and into his eyes for a millisecond and almost just fell over. I don't know what came over me, but we all remember the bus-dancing I did with the random girl the night before correct? Well, for some strange reason, I decided that Taylor should know about it. Our conversation went as follows:
Me: Yeah...we were dancing in front of your bus last night. *demonstrates REALLY BAD & TERRIBLY HORRIFIC booty-dancing moves...in front of Taylor Hanson*
Taylor: ...Are you guys lobby dancers?
Me: Um...no.
Taylor: Did they pay you for it?
Me: No. But they should have! I have some good moves!
Taylor: I bet you do!
So after that rather embarassing display (WHY did I do that? I can't believe I did that.) I moved onto my Clarkey. Oh le sigh. I shook his hand, told him my name, asked for a hug. Then it was picture time! I had been standing on the very end, by Isaac, and right before the picture, I stated that "I want to stand right THERE" and pointed between Taylor and Isaac. So Taylor pulls me in; he and Isaac wrap their arms around my back, and we all smile like loons. I thought I would faint. I touched 2 of the Hansons...at the same time. Oh. My. God.
Maddie lightened this for me. Thanks honey!
Stupid Isaac signed on the cord of the headphone, you can't even see his stinkin' signature. Geez Isaac, ya boob. The file name for this reads "Hanson signed my crap"
After the pictures, Krystal asked Taylor for a hug, and then I asked for one. He is SO SKINNY. Freaking stick. I heard some girl ask Zac for a hug and he said "but I'm sick! I don't want to get you sick!" So I pipe up with "I'm sick too! Hug me and we'll be sick together!" Krystal would NOT stop talking to Zac, and I had to literally drag her away. We had a bit of a problem at the will call area...my name wasn't down for tickets. But they let us in anyway, and we got pretty decent spots. I ended up in the third row, just about. It was absolutely insane. I took a TON of pictures, but I used the zoom so they're all really grainy. I'll post them at the end in one fell swoop.

Notice anything? NO MMMBOP. I was overjoyed. I'd been wanting to go to a show where there was no MMMBop. Add that to the fact that they played Go, Being Me, Ain't No Sunshine (I completely thought I would cry from joy. I love this song so much.) and This Time Around. Best. Setlist. Ever. And now, the show pictures. They're bad, don't say I didn't warn you. I have learned my lesson about using the zoom on crappy little digital cameras. Also, I'm not posting ALL of them...only some. Because they're all very similar.
Mmmm, Taylor on drums.
IF ONLY THIS AND NEXT ONE WEREN'T SO DAMN BLURRY. Oh God. Taylor on electic guitar does something naughty to my soul. I love seeing that man prance around with a guitar.
This just makes me dead. I almost don't care that it's grainy. Ungh.
I think I got jostled when I was taking this. But I like it.
This would be okay if it weren't for all the stupid hair in the way. Dumb girls.
I'm pretty sure that is Amy's finger (or....hand? I'm not sure what body part it is. It might not even belong to Miss Amy.) in my picture. But she was being a doll and getting Taylor shots for me, so I won't complain too much. :p
Amy took this one. I said "AMY. GET ME A SHOT OF ISAAC'S CROTCH!"
It's blurry, and there's someone's head in it..but I really like this one.
THE END. (I know, you're sad. I'm sorry...but not really. :D)
