And unfortunately, I think that Remus WAS one of the spirits that Harry saw during his walk to the forest. But I've accounted for that in my denial fic, just posted at lupin_snape.
Yes, wasn't it interesting that Snape was the only one to have died in vain, to have been killed pointlessly? None of us have ever been able to keep up with JKR. Totally unexpected, as was the last bit about the wands and how Harry ended up defeating but not killing LV. I don't think anyone could have foreseen that.
