Two minutes before I leave for Prof. X

I think that I should go back to writing real journals. It is something I used to do end of middle school, beginning of high school. Either I lost them or I destroyed all my old journals, I really wish I didn't because I want to understand what I was going through back then. It's really impossible to compair yourself to the past unless you have documented your thoughts. We are prone to think that everything we do is self justified, and and likely to believe that the things we did in the past were not. (Example: "I used to be a jerk but now I'm not. If you could find journal entries from when you were a 'jerk' you'd feel completely justified for the way you acted, or not even have realized it.) I think that writing a more thorough journal would be crucial to real personal development. Plus, it would be nice to carry around with me so I always have something sensational to read when I'm on the train.
