I think my bicycle got impounded? I'm not sure, but I didn't see a broken lock lying around, so that could indicate that the government instead of the usual thugs are involved. It's my own fault, whether it was stolen or impounded - I left the poor thing sitting at the bike rack at work for quite a long time. But if it WAS impounded, I'm not sure if I want to go get it back. The bike itself cost $40. The impoundment fee is $25, increasing at a dollar a day for storage costs, and it's got to be up to at least 30 or 35 by now. So it seems like I might as well just get a new bike. At the same time, I was rather attached to that bike, and it would break my heart if I saw someone else riding it around -- or worse, if it was thrown away! I'll decide what to do by Monday; I can call 'em.
Also, you have to prove ownership in order to un-impound your bike, and my bike's not registered. I guess I could just describe it and where it was parked very thoroughly. Also, I may have a photo of it somewhere. But I might just want to get another, better bike. Hm...
