The Shroud - my review - with spoilers for season 3 SGA
This episode broke me. Seriously. If I hadn't seen Sunday - it wouldn't have - but seeing this - and thinking - oh my god, THAT was why the Daedalus wasn't there. It broke my heart.
It was a good episode - even if I couldn't beleive that it was Daniel - at ANY point. If I ignored that yeah, it was a good episode. Somethings didn't make all that much sense - but yeah.
I loved Jack in this episode - he was Jack again - and that was sooooo nice - the Jack/Daniel scenes were good - made me miss the old days even more.
Daniel: Hello Merlin!
Jack: crazy and me are like..
Sam: Cam likes crazy too.
Those prob the best bits of the whole episode, and again, i found myself actually liking Vala.
Adria/Daniel - Nooooo - I really really hated that - but not as much as i would have, had i been able to believe it was Daniel.
Freaky= Daniel, in the chair, wobbling it. Guh.
Sam commanding the odysessy - (prays that it isn't a sign) - was interesting - but you'd have though there would be a new commander after this long. And that there would be more crew than they made out. It's a little thing, but yeah, it would have been nice.
Woolsey - i still like - cos, well he was just showing/proving that he HAS been learning.
And finally - would it have killed them to say yes or no about the Ori? For those of us who've seen sunday/the people who will see the connection. Also - peeps now have to find a way to sort the gates again - cos if they don't....ummmm, more ships anyone?? *head desk*
The Daniel Problem - it was kinda a big one for me - and it's not due to the denial, cos i love Daniel, no matter the form - it was the writing and the things he did. The ADRIA stuff was a part of it, but the end scene, nope, that seemed like Merlin to me, not Daniel, cos, we've seen him in similar situations, and no, that's not how he was.
It's not something i can put down in words, it was just that niggling thing that bothers you all the way. *sighs* yeah.
Other than that - better than i thought it would be - but, kinda forgot some of their own stuff, didn't quite get all the characters right (through i do love Cam and his nickname for Daniel 'Sunshine' - where the hell did it come from through??) and it sucked big time to have the Daedalus be the one there and involved and what that means for SGA. But this ep? Better than Vengeance. *nods*
