I realize that a lot of people out there aren't feeling the same, but personally, it's really starting to get to me when the intelligence seems to go out of a fandom.
Most of the things I watch to feel challenged, not just on intelligence level, there are others levels to it, but lately, that just doesn't seem to be present in all that many shows.
I miss Jonathon Creek - i really do - I loved it when i managed to get it right, especially when it was the person and the way i had guessed by about half through the episode. It didn't bother me that i was right, it was thrilling.
Now however - i seem to be predicting what's going to happen next in way too many things.
I used to watch Midsummer murders, Daziel & Pascoe, Rebus, CSI Miami, charmed and a few other similar shows (eg Waking the dead) almost religiously. Now? Well, i hardly watched the final season of charmed at all, through i could have done, i was at home, the tv was on, but i didn't.
CSI Miami is nowhere near as good as it used to be, so i tend to just watch it because mam sent me the tape and it was on there.
I haven't watched Midsummer Murders since Troy left, because, well, it just wasn't the same then. Watched a part of it the other day, without even realising it was MM. *blinks*
Rebus - is more due to the casting change - which is a major one - as it's REBUS that they recast. So yeah - John Hannah rebus, i LOVED, i watched them everytime they were on, the new ones, i just can't.
And Daziel and Pascoe - well - i stopped when it went weird, which was about the point they stepped away from the books. Which was, ummm, a good few years ago now.
So really, now, i'm left with House, NCIS, CSI, SG-1, Medium, Torchwood, Doctor Who, SGA and Supernatural. Oh and Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty, which isn't much really, considering what i used to be like. AND especially when i consider which of those i'm even going to still be watching come a few months time. *sighs*
It's depressing, it really is.
Sorry about the rant - its just my way of dealing - am looking forward, with great delight to the 'A Dog's Breakfast' screening and the Con - but at the same time??
My family really isn't the healthiest in the world. Yeah, it sucks.
