so who here has met a murderer?

That was the closing question of monday's profiling class. (the answer - very few - and most of them, there was a reason for the murder).

This week was 'bring the details of a serial offender to class and we'll discuss' - didn't really venture outside the better known ones (two american - plus a few British - we kinda have 'less' serial killers, though it's more that we have less well known well documented ones).

It continues to be interesting (and a bit scary - one girl, who wants to do criminology then go into the police - was in the year under me at high school, and someow remembered me.....well remembered me as of this week, when we talked. Oh and I continue to freak people with my knowledge and recall. My memory, which I've never though of as 'brilliant', seems to beat a lot of people's *blushes*

Also, I amuse our lecturer, considering the looks he kept giving me everytime I had a 'actually, there was this' during the mini group discussion (and I got stares from all four of the other members of my group - because I know that water is a good dumping ground and that DNA actually isn't magic. (girl who went to my high school - said the green river killer was silly dumping in a river, because of course the DNA would survive, and I was like o.O - I then had to do the 'I'm an archaeologist, which is were some of this comes from, some of my old lecturers dig crime scenes for the police' - and then there was 'doesn't archaeology have something to do with buildings *face palm*)

It's definitely been worth it so far *nods*

Weird conversations are had with ma still - she was alone in her and da's first house, in the area where 'The Fox' (not the CM unsub - the british criminal) was active, so my grandmother took her dog on the train and various buses to get to ma, so that she had protection *pets the grandmother* - (there's a list forming of 'criminal who were active near us' and 'things we have been victims of' - fortunately no one in my family has been murdered yet....just most other things *face palm*)

-

In other news, I am officially the owner of one of the puppies. Who is actually mine, completely, I shall be paying for her food, and her vet bills and everything. I'll post pictures at some point (I hope to manage a good picture of her crazy eye - she's a bi eye, but her 'brown' eye.....is weird, the top quarter is still blue, then it's green either side of the blue that bleeds into the bottom half that is brown. *heh*)

-

And saw some of last night's Midsummer Murders, was un-impressed (attempted rape....occurring on screen, but the dude didn't get called on it, but the police man arresting him - the list was 'murder and attempted murder' *mutters*)

Criminal Minds....

It was a better episode - the team background bits keep throwing me (the Emily/Hotch convo was WEIRD - and Morgan....ummmm, he's still not actually showing that anger and betrayal.....we're going to see it right? *is doubtful*)

The continuity fail made me twitch (not the Reid bit I've seen people going on about - because that actually isn't an important continuity point) - Rossi, had been retired TEN YEARS when he came back in season three. This is season seven.

This episode? The stuff was ten years before this episode. Which makes it only six years maximum before Rossi's return. But Hotch and Rossi were together on a case - where Rossi was still an Agent, and apparently Hotch....I have no clue. :/

Then there's JJ - so ten years ago, she was still at school? I'm hoping she means college school, though even then....ten years ago - this is season seven, so seven years ago, JJ was already communication liason, and had been with the team for a year (going off what was said in JJ)....and there was at least six months between college and the FBI (going off what she said to Rossi in Zoe's Reprise....plus that mentioned her hearing him do a reading, and his tours were post retirement......)

I am just *face palm* - the ten year thing just *flails* (Let's pretend it was fifteen or twenty?).

And another rare medical condition (profiling class - less than 1% are criminals, but something like 80% will be VICTIMS of crimes. Dear Criminal Minds writers....how have you avoided showing this?) - and, ummmm, I've seen people punch through glas cabinets and handle the pain......

BUT it felt more like criminal minds *yay* - and I liked the end Hotch/Jack bit (Jack's not talking like a little kid any more *smishes* - so much of his dad in him *heh*)

Hope you're all well - sorry I've not been around much - am a bit undead between work, class, being ill and puppies *g*

update, life, profiling, criminal minds
