Castle - was the opener that was needed after that finale. It wasn't perfect but it worked, and it worked well.
Lost Girl - SO MUCH LOVE that is all (other than KENZI *draws hearts around*)
Criminal Minds....
So, I guess I'll be in the minority, in that I didn't really like it much. There wasn't really any profiling, I still don't really like JJ becoming a profiler (for continuity, and because it lessens her old role a lot, in a way that annoys me, the few bits of interviews on the subject bothered me a lot. JJ was at no point less important, or less needed than the others. Her not being a profiler was important. Just like Garcia's reactions to the blood gore and horror.) I'll see how it goes the rest of the season.
Also, and I may be weird for this, but I wanted to know the names of those agents who died. I wanted to know something about them, just something to make me care. It's probably bad that nothing in this episode made me care what was happening.
There were a few 'huh'? moments, and yeah, I wanted profiling.
It's weird, because I've been rewatching some s1-4 eps, were you got them walking though the crimes and being all 'I'm the unsub', and you not knowing who the unsub was, and feeling for the victim. S6 was a long way from that, and I haven't really rewatched much of it because of that.
It wasn't a terrible opener, but I don't feel any urge to rewatch it (apart from the small Hotch + Rossi moment, and the little team touches). I didn't feel anything watching it either. Something that bothers me.
Castle, almost made me cry. Criminal Minds? It should have, instead I kept noticing logic lapses.
*face palm*
I think it would have actually worked as a two parter, with tension building (and no credits - espec after the 'and two of your agents died' comment, cos damn, they could have played with that, and they didn't. We got two agents we had never met, who weren't named, who just randomly appeared, *sighs*. Oh and Hotch randomly in a war zone.....) - we could have been introduced to the two who died, could have been lead to think various things. Could have been introduced to Declan as a character rather than the object of desire.
The whole review thing? I would have liked, if it had actually played out like a review should. So many things that they were called out on, but not punished for. Why didn't they call the police? If they didn't call it in, get permission or anything.....where did the other peeps at the airfield come from? and the helicopter..... *sighs*. And the team didn't do angry faces at JJ, didn't even seem to notice that she knew about Emily.
I know that's a rather negative review up there. I didn't want it to be, but that's where I stand post watching. I'm happy to have Hotch, Rossi, JJ, Garcia, Morgan, Emily and Reid back, but I'm not sold on this being a better season than season six. And I will break things if JJ and Will wind up being broken up.
*breathes*
It's back to cases next week though, so hopefully, profiling will occur. (and it'll be post weasel's first profiling lecture.....which may be interesting).
Eliza Dushku in just over a week *flails* - in the meantime, there is work, puppies and art making (and fic writing, really need to get on that 40k draft - *pokes rossi*)
