originally my subject line was going to be a line from the preston version of Cinderella - but then it's much colder and icer now and
charlies_dragon has the post it note note that has the full sentence on ;)
I has received lovely cards from
thinkpink20,
trowel_queen and
flubber2kool *hugs the girlies*.
There has also been snow (more snow than has been seen in the last ten years of living in Lancashire o.O) - and both of the little dogs have now seen, eaten and been defeated by it. Well that and the garlic they retrieved from the vegetable rack - apparently garlic baffles huskies...who knew? Onions on the other hand are only to be used for football, while carrots and potatoes are eaten freely.
I've had a busy little while - and that's going to continue for a little while - but with less travel \o/ - I got back here from cardiff last Saturday, then I made it to London this Saturday and then back here on Monday (though mother almost gave me a heart attack when she texted and said 'it snowed - I can't get in to work' as if she couldn't make the ten minute drive to work, then picking me and the girls up in preston seemed unlikely (as did us actually getting to Preston)). The girls have also today made it back to London *phew*.
Now I just have to hope I can get back to Cardiff in a few weeks *winces* (Da's run to Derby the monday of the same week should be a sign on that though - if he's successful I will likely be able to make it back to uni and hand in my portfolio - which I still have to do *whistles*)
Despite all the travel it's been good though - the brother is not around much \o/ and mother hasn't been too bad, plus da is home for the whole of this week and next so there is a buffer - the decision that mother shall be coming camping with me to do my field work is however still in place (there is even now a camp air bed in the house - tested by the lovely
teapot_women over the last two nights) so blood is sure to come later in the year
Tha panto - GDL *dances*, though he doesn't sing much (the one real 'solo' line he had being part of a HSM song, which he butchered happily), he hammed it up well and had some of the best lines, but it was muchly fun - and pretty much what was expected considering who wrote, directed and acted in it (all three *gasps....coughs*) - it wasn't a terrible panto though (even if they used tonnes of modern songs: one of the pantos I went to as a kid had songs they'd written for themselves (cornwall and scotland I went to the local pantos, no big names and small budgets (and often very much a community event), but much fun)). There was also a very very evil little girl who was up on stage, the bad talk ZOMG - the others were soooo cute though. Sadly we had to flee to get to Da who was waiting for us rather than going to the stage door (I really need to print off a copy of the GDL and the boys pic that
charlies_dragon got for me back in May - the boys being my two stuffed toys, those who have seen them and know the story of them will understand ;))
But yes - fun was had and people were met - so all in all not a bad night (ignoring the guys by the mall who decided that throwing snowballs at people was nice *mutters*) - I had a moment when I considered doing something suicidal (peeps behind us didn't know who GDL was - then decided that he was the husband from TW *sighs* - I was tempted to turn around and cheerfully say that it was alright cos I didn't know who the blonde girl was either - I however have more sense than to in any way suggest that I am not involved in the local religion *g*)
Also of the good this weekend -
charlies_dragon made me a Jayne hat for christmas *bounces* - I shall wear it on Jayne day and get strange looks with great glee - love for Chuck was shared and I got to see all of season one - and Neil Gaiman was fan girled - all in all fun geekiness with the London based friends :) - plus Data mood theme to go with my new phone (it's a white shiny blackberry - I couldn't not call it Data *is a geek*)
On the other hand - I officially came out to my mother last week - that was fun and awkward and has not been mentioned since (it would seem that as I liked a boy once and identify as bi all is well in mother's world...) - there was also an hour long silence after it, with me and mum sitting stoically on the sofa and not looking at each other or anything but the region of the room where the tv resides. *head desk*
But yes - I shall be around - but not especially present for a little while - as I have uni work and fics to work on, plus the lack of my own computer *sniffs* - once I'm back in cardiff however, I shall be around much ;)
xx
