I've still got a way to go before the draft is finished - but I may throw it your way to make sure I haven't created a bunch on OCs in the place of the actual torchwood characters- with prior warning of course *g*
I know - I thought that the other day - I don't write much Het either *flushes* and even when I do, most of it is actually technically slash - I love my genderbenders to DEATH *giggles manically*
Does Daniel/Carson work - of course it does *coughs* - I solemnly stand by my belief that Carson/Daniel is canon and until proved otherwise I shall stand by that (ish - *g* - I will actually take pretty much any pairing - I just love Carson/Daniel that tiny bit more *g*) - i was epically disappointed when there was no screen time with carson and daniel together in that season five two parter *sniffs*
Ok - so this might help you it might not - in my personal canon - Daniel is Bi with no real preference to either, whereas I think of Carson as Bi, but with more of a leaning towards men (if you get what I mean?) - so yeah, Daniel having been with Sha're then being with Carson - no issues at all
With Return part 1 & 2 in canon there's time between the two (I may have started a timeline for gateverse and be able to give you random ass facts that prove timelines....*is a geek*) - I think they suggest about a month (John has a team - they've been calling Elizabeth for ages - Rodney called john last week - Carson having time to think over and buy and set up his 'wee baby turtles' *resists urge to go rewatch - cos it's been ages*) - but you're fine to mess with it cos it's never said how long exactly it was - so yeah if it's needed for your story to work - mess with the timeline all you like ;) plus - it's AU so you can do it and if people moan just point and say 'well it is AU'

That works for me as well as I readlly didn't want to have him have a hissy fit about Carson becoming a woman although it will be a surprise to him. In the case of those two I wanted it to be more of how they dealt with the relationship and rediscovered each other.
I was thinking may be two months. not more than that and its not really stated in my story. Its more implied.
This is why this is an esatblished relationship/first time story. Just hope it comes over well
