Rut Roh!

So, here are some pictures of the almost finished first character. Got a couple shots to see the overall, and detailing in the veins/hands, neck/face, etc. Only thing left to do is texture and rig him.... the former I'm very bad at, as it involves UVW Unwrap. And Max and I do not agree on that. We do not agree at all. Anyway:

Overall body shot. Same with this one. Detailing on the hand and neck. Overall, I'm happy with the way it's looking. Unfortunately, I'm kinda unhappy with the burned landscape I posted earlier. I really think I could add more model detail with less polys to help me be able to render it in less than a year.

On to other things, I started GoW on hardcore (went through first on casual, as I have hardly played ANY fast paced non-flight game on a console). Boy was I in for a pleasent surprise. Although I was a bit miffed I couldn't easily 1-hit kill melee anything that walked in my path, it was a nice challange. The first time I got melee'ed by a group of rushing Locust, it made me hate them with a passion I have only ever felt last time Jack Thompson spoke about anything or anytime I hear Sex and the City playing at work. Which is a lot, mm'kay?

Needless to say, I'm at "the spotlight" part, and this is the only time I'm glad the AI is controlling Dom. Yes, he dies. A lot. But at least he switches the lights on for me--something my brother did not do. Anyway, I hope to have Live in a few weeks, so it should be trivial anyway since I can go through on Insane with competent people.

Also, for those of you with a superiority complex, I must reiterate (from previous posts probably on a different blog) that Rome: Total War is the way to go. It's quite sad that I've had it for over two years now and have never beaten it (thanks to me getting distracted by other games). But now that I've had lots of time to kick some barbarian ass and plot to take over Rome, I'm wondering why I ever spent so many sleepless hours MTing in World of Warcraft. Well, I know why I MTed, but why I didn't log off right afterwards to play R:TW.

Now that I've successfully wasted about five minutes of someone's life, I must go to spread my oh-so-better culture to those dirty heathens.
