Dean was a little unsteady on his feet on the way to Angua's. Not out of any weakness, so much as shock and a happiness that threatened to overwhelm him should he stop holding it at arm's length.

Angua peeked out from the side of the house where she'd been fighting her garden. She was determined to get one godsdamned thing growing in there if it killed her.

"You are? That's news to me," she said, wiping her dirt-stained hands on the back of her jeans as she walked over to the porch to see Dean, Gavin running ahead to greet him.

"Oh my gods, are you okay?" she asked suddenly, the wet around his eyes unmistakable.

"I'm not even crying," Dean insisted, mostly out of habit as he wiped his hand on his jeans. He opened his mouth to ask whether a man could get some freaking respect, but found his hands sliding around her waist instead, the mouth so ready to protest pressing itself to hers.

Angua kissed back after determining the tears weren't the bad sort, Dean had been smiling. Not that it made her any less curious. Her hands rose to his chest and she leaned into him, her questions could wait a little while at least.

It wasn't until Gavin nosed him in the ass that Dean released her, stepping back to pass a hand quickly over his cheeks. God, that seriously had to stop sometime soon.

"Hey," he said, taking in the dirt on her hands for the first time. "Whatcha doing?"
