Fashionista (WIP)

Fandom: Twilight
Rating: PG-13
Pairings: Canon, but really gen
Comments: This just came to me as I was looking at dresses. While I am no fashionista ('cause I have expensive taste and I'd rather have a fashion no-no than a decrepit credit card), I think I know fashion, so I hope I'm pretty credible. Plus, my mom works on Rodeo Drive, and I practically grew up there, so I know the location info is at least the best as it could be. I'm more worried about channeling my inner Alice. (: ...I found the icon very appropriate. *snicker*

Notes: Post-BD. Working title. Since time has passed, Rosalie is much more... good-tempered towards Bella. Renesmee is away from the family with Jacob.

For my own sake, the styles mentioned in this:
"conservative, fashionable" look ("Think Japanese; their style is risque and sometimes outlandish, but there's always a sleek, not too showy look."), prep ("Brooks Brothers and all that jazz"), hipster/indie, the teenage scene kid, chav, hip-hop/rap artist look ("Bella, Bella, it's not just about baggy pants and see-through tank tops like it did in the '90s; the style's just as scandalous as ever, but now it's taken a vintage look, like going to the roots of modern hip-hop: the '90s." "Didn't you just say it was going away from the '90s fashion?" "I was talking about late '90s; they're going back to early '90s."), the three personalities (Rosalie - sexy, sophisticated; Alice - fun, cute, young; Bella - professional, casual, conservative).

Places they visit, and the designers mentioned (or will be mentioned):
Chanel, Escada, Brooks Brothers, Marchesa (gowns), Ferragamo, Neiman Marcus, Bally, La Perla, Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire (where they stay).

The characters' styles:
Rosalie - sexy, sophisticated;
Alice - fun, cute, young;
Bella - professional, casual, conservative;
Edward - clean, simple; working man; early Elvis Presley, later George Clooney
Jasper - bold, cool; Western, "beach bum"; Steve McQueen, Beck; faded jeans
Emmett - wild, rugged; David Bailey, Bob Dylan; skinny tie, track jacket

Summary: Alice and Rose take Bella out shopping in Beverly Hills on a cloudy winter's day, which ends up being a lesson in fashion.

A lone female shriek: "No, no, no, no, no!"

Then two strong, women at the same time: "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!"

"Alice, Rose, I told you, I don't want to go through your shopping," Bella cringed. "I'm fine with you guys dressing me up for tonight, but no shopping, none whatsoever. I can hardly stand it."

"But, Bella, this is huge; this is important; this is your anniversary!" Alice shot back. "Your clothes are not going to be enough for an event such as this, and ours most certainly are not going to be enough. You have to dress perfectly, and trying to pull off an outfit with clothes that don't fit your body type will ruin the whole ensemble!"

"Exactly, Bella," Rosalie continued for Alice. "My busty and curvaceous body calls for different types of style, as does Alice's small, straighter body. You have wider hips than Alice and a smaller chest than I do. The cut of any of our clothes wouldn't work, because you need the perfect fit."

Bella caught herself before scoffing, but, she did allow herself to roll her eyes at them. Of course Rosalie would point out the flaws about Bella's body, and praise her own. "You guys have made them work before," Bella replied, having perfect recall of the times they simply lent her their clothes.

"Yes, but that was with editing, and not so perfect clothes to deal with," Alice said. "An exact fit won't work the same way instead of dressing up perfectly. Trust us, no detail can go amiss these vampire eyes."

"I don't know..." Bella's voice was barely a murmur. It was obvious Alice and Rose were getting to her; she was already giving up. Alice picked up on this instantly, having a hint of vision of Bella caving in, and grabbed her hand to the car. Rosalie had taken the front seat, and Alice instructed her where to go, when Bella realized she wasn't exactly sure where they were going. "So, are we heading to Rainier Square?"

"Nope," Alice replied, popping the 'p' slightly.

"Then where?"

"Beverly Hills," both Rosalie and Alice responded at the same time. It didn't take a genius to know which Beverly Hills they were talking about...

"What?!" Bella exclaimed. "Isn't it a little difficult for us to go to Los Angeles in August? And we better be taking a plane. I don't think I could stand going all the way there in a car."

"Hey. Don't bitch about it. This is a great thing," Rosalie said, smirking. Alice continued, smiling, "Yeah, relax, Bella. We're just going to the Port Angeles airport, and we're gonna fly there. I wouldn't be able to stand driving there either. As for the weather... it's the strangest thing; there's going to be two days of rain and a day of cloudiness, well, a half-day. Ideally, we can get our stuff done on that day of cloudiness, but knowing us, we're not going to be able to finish it all then."
