I feel sorry for women in a sense, that feel like they need to press against male tirany of some kind. I think where you all lost your way though was demanding something that was already yours. It's created this horrid idea of "feminism" and honestly feminism makes me sick. Why are you trying to justify your actions with this "my body, my choice" ( Read more... )

I can see that you are offended by my post and thank you for telling me in a very calm manner.

I think I probably should have written as disclaimer stating that it wasn't a blanket attack (even though it looks like it) it's merle badly written out of anger.

My attitude towards "my body, my choice" in this post was fairly detached from abortion in this post. I am mainly talking about sexual rights.

Did you read the comment's attached to the post? My sister asked me what I mean't and I tried to explain a little better.

I've already edited the post as I wrote something extremely offensive the first time round which was picked up by my sister which I immediately removed as it wasn't what I actually meant and furthermore it was very offensive.

The post was a reaction to someone who sounded like exactly what I have said I think about people who believe the whole my body, my choice. I won't say everyone believes this. In my experience people who do believe this have little morals, and almost zero accoountability. Again, this isn't everyone. I think I just feel that overall the world is loosing it's way and we are bound to end up in a state of anarchy is everyone keeps loosing morals and accountability and wants to do whatever they want.

Just a quick point with the work equality - if you look towards the bottom of the post I actually state that this is still a huge issue and that it's definitly something work fighting for. I use it as a correlation between the two. Please do understand I would never say a women doesn't have the right to earn the same as a man. That would be stupid. I think equality in the work place is soorely needed, and in this men need to be allowed to have time off when their children are born, just as much as women need to be paid much better.

I agree that feminism can be alot more than what I'm seeing of it. To me, it's not been a good thing, but I used to be a feminist - back when it mean't you wanted equality in the work place, but I feel it's gone way past that now to women just wanting everything and feeling everything is their right. Again, work equality is still a huge issue and if asked I would still support this part of feminism.

My apologies for offending you with this post, I hope you can see that my anger was pretty bad at the time and I really just needed to get my thoughts out. I've been dealing with some pretty severe depression due to the fact that I get really angry about things but I've got no one and no where to say it. I really just needed an outlet. Next time, I will write a dislaimer to make sure none of you are offended and I will re-edit in the hours after when I have calmed down, to better get my point across.

Lastly, if you'd like to read the article and comment that made me so angry, they are attached to my last comment. The article was justifiably stupid (but nothing to really be as mad about as they were) and the comment made by one particular individual (second link) is what set me off. However, I am happy to acknowledge that even the term "my body, my choice" has different meanings for different people.
