I quite like The Secret Circle, despite the adult in me thinking: why on Earth didn't Cassie ask to see all the relevant literature before deciding that binding the circle was the right thing to do? Why on Earth would you trust the judgement of someone you've not known for very long, whose motives are unclear, simply because they say they know more than you do? Especially if it seems clear you'll be bound to these people for the rest of your life... Anyway, yes, I am enjoying TSC, but I think the more interesting story is at the grandparents' generation. I'm a bit sick of everything important or exciting happening to kids. LOL.

It makes me long for a TV show in which the onset of powers and stuff doesn't come until, I don't know, 33. The conflict of intergrating that into an adult world would be hugely interesting: it would shake the foundations of your world, make you question your certainties, your ethics, your beliefs, your family relationships, your sanity. And that's the very least of it. I expect 30-somethings would be far more ruthless and pragmatic than teenagers. Or, you know, take it even older. Retirees. Who can forget how awesome Cocoon was?

I enjoyed the pilot for Revenge, but haven't got round to watching any more eps yet. I like Emily Van Camp.

I also enjoy The Vampire Diaries, but it does take a while before it hits its stride. I think I watched most of the first season whilst ironing, and it benefitted from being watched in one go.

Are you watching Fringe? It had a shaky start - the first 12 episodes were really bland - and then became the best thing on TV by a huge margin.
