mmmm, wonderful!

I love the subtle ways they're so *them* here; the scenes where John's clothes shopping and dealing with Ben's asshole dad are stellar, and Ben getting a room (and subsequent hot sex) was such a lovely surprise.

and thank you - i feel like ben has the capacity to surprise a lot of people, and it's like john both totally sees that in him and maybe misses the point altogether.

Oh, yes. Thank you for this. Your Cooper-POV is spot on, your Ben is adorable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the shopping sequence, even if John didn't. AWESOME.

why thank you! i thought of you when i was writing this because something about listening to the national on repeat - he started to sound more and more like bruce!

Oh this is fabulous! Great characterization with gratuitous shopping porn, hee, and "reverse-engineering the Windsor knot" was just so--visual and clever that I had to stop and APPRECIATE it a moment before reading on.
