sorry about the multiple posts. apparently i had too many drabbles in my last entry, so decided to put them here instead. hope that's alright. enjoy.
three united drabbles
Title: Maybe
Pairing: Cristiano Ronaldo/Wayne Rooney

You twirl the gold band on your finger. It feels so heavy (so tight) all of a sudden, and all you want is take it off. It once symbolized everything you wanted in life. (Coleen, marriage, happiness) Maybe that was still what you wanted. Maybe it wasn’t. You didn’t know anymore. Because somewhere between the white and black, you got lost in the gray and found the brown (of his eyes). And somewhere between the English and Portuguese, you found meaning. And you want to be sorry (to find your way back to that gold band and everything it stood for), but you can’t (won’t).

He changed your life (that was long ago; back when neither of you knew the meaning of love or heartache). You never let anyone get that close to you ever again. You did it for yourself (mostly you did it for him). You want him to be the first and last (and only) person to hurt (love) you the way he did (still does). And it’s only when you see him in that red uniform, standing beside you, that you tell him, “It’s still you. (Probably always will be).”

This was the person you fell in love with . And that was enough (for now).
