ily vacation.

THINGS I LIKE TO DO (Part 1= by myself)
-knit
-do crossword puzzles
-color
-listen to music
-watch a few things: red sox games, baseball tonight (the television show called "baseball tonight," not just like any random baseball game, tonight), everwood
-attempt to teach myself piano from a really nice book out of the library

THINGS I LIKE TO DO (Part 2= with other people)
-mini golf
-feed koi fish
-bake
-go to things: movies in theatres, red sox games

THINGS I DO TOO MUCH THAT I DONT REALLY LIKE
-livejournal
-be hungry
-do nothing
-not practice my cello

all of the above have been done quite a lot over this vacation. (with the exception of mini golf and feeding koi fish, which only happened once)

THINGS I SHOULD HAVE DONE OVER VACATION
-played more with my friends
-bought a cello (stupid cello store that i was going to go to was not open today!)
-been more productive in general

although "being productive" is a stupid thing to say. because its not like i could have just been sitting in my house being a couch potato and then suddenly been struck by productiveness. there needs to be something productive to actually do. so, i should have cleaned, organized, and watched less everwood. butttt it is suuuuch a good show.

also, being unproductive is rather nice, in that there is a lot of time to review your thoughts and think about things. like the fact that i enjoy being by myself. there are so many nice things to do when you are by yourself (see list 1). and you dont have to care about whether anyone else is bored or wanting to do something else. although i do have quite a lot of inner conflict. (i.e. should i finish watching this episode of everwood or watch the beginning of the red sox game) (i chose to finish the episode and then start watching the game in the third inning. or so.)

ahh vacation. it is so relaxing.

thinking of vacation, i think i shall do a nice numbered recap.

1) and thinking of relaxing, i had a somewhat harrowing experience at the beginning of vacation. sunday. i am in a piano trio (piano, violin, and cello) and we had a competition. it was at 1:15 at NEC. so i go in with my mother. before we leave she asks if i have my music. i stuff it into my cello case at a precarious angle, and lift my cello high over my head to get past the drums. stupid drums. i want to beat them with a stick. ahahhah that actually kind of makes sense. but i dont want to beat them with like a drumstick. no, i think a log would be better. but, i digress. so we leave for NEC at 12:15 (my trio had planned to get there at 12:45 to practice a bit beforehand) and arrive at NEC at about 12:30. plenty o' time. we drive around searching for a spot, and then decide that my mother should just drop me off. at approx. 12:47, when my trio was about to start rehearsing i realize i dont have my music. (on account of the precarious angle in addition to the high lift over head- must have fallen out.) (!) so everyone gets flustered. my mother leaves to attempt to speed home and speed back by 1:15. pianist's mother leaves to photocopy the score that the pianist plays on- 15 pages with a tiny little cello part. violin's mother attempts to track down a copy of our piece from the NEC library. in the end, i play from the score. it was so awkwardly taped and folded weirdly. and a bit harrowing (darn i already used that word. but it is a good word.) but it was all okay in the end. because on the way home, there were all these pretty pink and white trees. and it was so nice out. and then our trio coach called today and informed me that we got an honorable mention in the competition. so all's well that ends well.

2) whewf. that was a longie. i wasnt expecting it to be so long. anyway.

3) i always get jumbled up about what happens when. ahh now i remember. after that long thing i will start from the begining of vacation. friday.

4) wait i already wrote an entry about friday. an epic poem actually. only it was a bit short. a condensed version. so friday was josie and emily rose being in my house while i wasnt there/baking a cake/being locked out of my house. after i got home, and wrote my epic poem, we had the (weird-ish) cake and watched Titanic. because ily that movie. no matter what other people say. only emily rose and i both fell asleep. so we turned it off. and went to bed quick as 3 quick things.

5) saturday: we wake up. 11-ish i think? so we get a bit awake. and i telephone Emily JU up all quick. because she had called like 2wice the previous day. only i hadnt been there. and she was going to Fire and Ice (at 11:30?) only i couldnt go because of the fact that emily rose and josie were still in my house, and leaving them there alone for the second time in less than a 24 hour period would be so un-gracious-hostess-like. but they zipped on over for a quick visit. and said hi. and had some hugs. and then they left. so Emily Rose and Josie and I walk on over to the good old KNOTTY PINE. woah i dont know why i just put that in all caps. and they were like we are closing soon, so order quick. and we did. and then who do i see walking out but Cynthia Vanderburg. and a daughter. only i just caught a glimpse before they walked out the door. so i couldnt tell which it was. so i push Josie ferociously out of the way (we were in a booth and i was on the inside) and run out the door. and see it is truly Allison. so i grab her arm (again, a bit ferociously- i dont know what had gotten into me) and we have a huggy happy reunion. and she informs me of her plans to Fever Pitch it up with Eliza D. and then we both go on our ways. and i go back in the KNOTTY PINE (there go all caps again.) (only i did it this time because thats the way i did it last time.) (and i wanted to keep with tradition.) and we eat up our breakfast speedy quick. and by the time we were done, everyone else had left and they were cleaning up. it was minorly sketch. so we speed on out of there. and go home. in the lovely weather. and finish Titanic. (again, ILY TITANIC) and then i have to rudely leave them. to speed on over to Allison's to take the T to Fenway to see Fever Pitch with Eliza. and Allison. she saw it too. and we ate toooo much butter on our popcorn. and i ddr-ed once. and played a car game. and watched a mega-ddr man. he was so good. a monster of ddr. and Allison and i also played a fun game where we shot a lot of people. inside a booth with a curtain that closed. (we played the game inside that booth, not the people we shot were inside that booth.) and theeen Eliza and Allison decided to be gluttonous pigs. and get some Coldstone ice cream. and how bizarre- i for once was an un-gluttonous pig and didnt get my own- i just ate theirs. wow. and then we took the T back to Allison's and did some stuff. and then i went home. because i had to get up early for Sunday. which i already described in detail.

5) i dont really know what i did after my trio exploit on sunday. my mom's friend from college and his wife (who are named Ed and Emily) were visiting. ily them. so, i guess we did sunday-ish things? maybe?

6) then came monday. yay marathons. my crazy young cousins came over. and they are so cute/funny. and we had a good time. cheering runners. and trying to control the baby. who is owen. and actually not so much of a baby- he must be 2 or 3 or something. and Ed cheers in the most amusing way. an example... a runner comes toward us with his name on his shirt- Dan. so he shouts "Dan! We've been waiting for you! Way to go Dan!" and it causes me a laugh. so monday was marathon-y.

7) then tuesday. was... emma. only first i had to watch A Cinderella Story. on account of my enormous urge. so Kate and i sped over to the movie store. and rented Cinderella Story. which was such a pleasing movie to me. and then emma sped on over. and we played. frisbee. among other things. and then we went to the RED SOX GAME. YAYAYAY. ily red sox games. especially when i am at one. and they lost. but it was ok because it was such a gooood game. and nice seats. and such a nice night for a game. altogether pleasing.

8) then wednesday. was... Kate and i spending about half the day trying to decide what movie to rent. because after a cinderella story, we both wanted to watch another nice happy ending stupid but pleasing movie. so, after much thought, we decided on Kate and Leopold. which was okay. but, for how much trouble it took us to decide, it was not that great. and then watching the red sox game. which is my life. in a nutshell. do something mildly interesting during the day. and then watch the red sox game.

9) then thursday. which was yesterday. which i remember. because i spent the entire day watching everwood. entire. day. which is why my Everwood Season 1 DVD is one of the best things i own. and then i watched the red sox game. and that was my entire day. ily life as a couch potato.

10) then friday, which was today. and i woke up and did not really anything of interest. until about 3. when i went mini-golfing. with lily. and it was an enjoyable time. and we fed koi fish. at the mini golf course. and it was nice. and then i ate some salmon. wait, that never happened. ever. but we drove lily home and then went to fresh city for dinner. yum. and i enjoyed it. and then watched the red sox game. obvi. and then baseball tonight. my favorite show besides Everwood. and 7th Heaven. and then i wrote this.

phew. what a long thing that was.

only a few more points.

-at one point over vacation, i listened to our last year's all-city chorus cd. and it made me pleased. for a few reasons, being that... i could hear emily walsh at random points in a bunch of songs. and emily walsh you are really good. also i heard eliza a few times too. you are also really good. and this is basically all directed at emily and eliza because they were in it with me. although i bet emily wont read this because it is too long. maybe eliza will. idk. anyway. in almost all the songs, you could hear max pava and david singing at random parts, and they sounded so wrong because we were all in unison and then there would be random boy singing an octave lower. and adiamus is such a pleasing song. as is wild mountain thyme. but echo song was not at all pleasing. minus the echo. which sounded really good. and p.s. do you remember our dance to all that jazz? obvi. but illly ms. pava. although the dance was a bit suspect. but ily all city. and we sang a bunch of really nice songs. minus, like most of them. but crawdad hole is officially my favorite song. p.s. also maddy i could hear you at a bunch of times when you were the only alto who could actually hold your part. so you are good. and this is also directed at you. because you were there too. only on the other side of the room from me. end of all-city.

-last night, my dad spent like 15 minutes playing piano to random beatles songs. and singing along. and it made me really happy. because he was not bad. i think he really wanted to be a rock star his whole life. and he is happy we have a piano. because now he can sit down and play let it be and try to sing along.

-i am really bad at writing things.

-i love nice weather.

-i am going to bed now (although i realllly want to watch another episode of everwood. maybe i will. because it would be a nice bedtime thing. to do.)

i love you all.

love, me.
