It's like that really cool AC/DC song, "Back in the Saddle Again." Instead I'm, "Back into Anime Again." It's really cool. Right now I'm working on the first seasons of Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha. I'm realling digging Inuyasha. I'm trying to give Ranma a better chance since it's one of my friends favorite anime's, but right now...4 episodes in...they're all pretty much the same and instead of funny it gets a little bit more boring each time. The show has potential though so I'm not going to give up on it.
There's a new movie theatre in town called Rave Motion Pictures or something like that. It has 14 screens...the largest screens are 52 feet high and are wall to wall. The seats have 48 inches of leg room and there are 18 inch risers between each and every single row. 10 of the 14 screens are in digital format, it's really sweet. I can't wait to check it out today. We're going to see the new Bond flick, 007: Casino Royale. One of the reviews I read gave it an 8 out of 10 and said that this was the best Bond film restart that he had ever seen and that this was like the Batman Begins of the James Bond universe. It's amazing. At 2 hours and 24 minutes, I hope it is.
Chinese I is a bitch. Seriously. I was talking to one of my friends and he said now in his third class of Japanese they're expected to learn 200 of the Kangi (Japanese characters?). In our first class of Chinese, we're expected to learn 150 characters. Hmm...maybe this is why I'm slow at learning the language. I mean really slow. It could also be that I never study or practice except for on test days and in class...so...I'll go with blaming myself. There's no doubt that I could be doing better. From this day forth, I plan to do better...or...I'll save it until New Years for a resolution worthy of college.
Finals week is going to suck. I was expecting to go home Tuesday night and be home for like a week of December with nothing to do...nothing doin'. I went to Sociology to take a test and the dude says the final isn't until Thursday at 12:30. I have to wait an entire week for one fucking final. My english class ends December 6th...my Chinese class should have it's final on a Tuesday...which means Sociology should have also been Tuesday but no....now I have to wait 2-3 extra days for one fucking class. I'm a little pissed about that.
Finally saw Thank You For Smoking, that was a pretty funny movie. After that my friends watched a Prairie Home Companion. I have to say I wasn't too into seeing the movie but maybe that's becuase I never listened to the radio show that Garrison Keiller had on NPR...so...I don't know. Maybe I'll give it a shot.
One of my friends, Andy Argo, is going to be buying a Nintendo Wii on launch day. If I'm lucky, I'll get to play the thing or witness it being played before I go home for the winter. I'm hoping to get an Xbox 360 for Christmas. I know I'm getting a new iPod (my other one's battery died and it costs pretty much the same for a new iPod as it does for a battery, not that I'm complaining, the new one will play videos so I can watch the new Ninja Turtles trailer and stuff everywhere I go). Xbox 360 would be sweet. I'm thinking I want a next-gen system not because of the sweet ass games...but becuase I don't want to be left behind this coming generation. I've never had a next-gen system when it was considered to be next-gen. I always come late in the game. My first PS2 wasn't until a year after X-Box and Gamecube came out. I'm always left behind when next-gen consoles launch. Maybe I just want a 360 because of this reason or maybe it's becuase of all the sweet ass games I'm missing out on such as Gears of War and soon to be Alan Wake, Thief, Resident Evil 5, Lost Planet, Forza Motorsport 2, Mass Effect, Fable 2, Halo 3, and something else yet to be named. Maybe it's the fact that I can hook my iPod up to the Xbox 360 that's appealing. I can take my iPod and rip songs to my hard drive on the 360 and listen to them during a game. Maybe it's Xbox Live that I want...maybe it's...it's...the 360 because it's an awesome machine with so many features it's not even funny. PS3 might have Blu-Ray technology and cell technology...Wii might have a sweet ass remote...but it's the 360 that's got the features and the cheap price and the graphics and the games. Sure there's no Twilight Princess...but Master Chief versus Mario in a fight...I think we can all see who would win that fisticuff. Maybe Master Chief against Samus Aran...now that would be a better fight. Oh well. As they say in China...good-bye.
