How to go from this to
I don't have the examples anymore, but the instructions are still there, so I'll leave this up
This tutorial is for Photoshop CS2. I dont know how compatable it is.
Take your base image, and rotate it 50 degrees. Then crop it.
Duplicate the base 4 times and set the modes like this
Then merge teh layers.
(Oh and just now I accidentally deleted the history on it...so I'm going by memory...)
Next I took this texture
by...somebody and set it to difference 100%.
Icky huh? Next, I took some of the colour from the texture, a dark blue, and covered up the top corner. Then I Gaussian blurred it at 13px.
Then take this texture
by iconistas and set it to colour burn 100%.
Next I used scriptina at 27px for "magic".
Simple, but I like it.
