I am going to be recreating this wallpaper today as requested by wickedgirl23
For Photoshop CS2
I don't know how well this translates to other programs, as I've never touched anything but PS CS and CS2 (PSP scared me).

Get your own style, don't rip off mine. I quite like it.
I took this picture and cropped it down with the rectangle tool (Select what you want, then go Image>Crop). Then I changed the image size down the 1024px width, and then went to Canvas size, and make it 1024x768 px (my preferred wallpaper size).
Then I do what I always do, Auto Levels, Contrast, Colour (Image>Adjustments). They're very useful for correcting things. As you can see, it completely takes out the blue.
So I sharpened the picture, and applied this texture by zinzibar after desaturating it and set it to Colour Burn 100%.
Now, I only wanted that one box bit in the left corner, so I applied a layer mask and went over everything except the box and the area below it since I wanted to keep that too.

Then I added another texture, this time by grrliz_icons, desaturated it, and set it to Multiply 100%
Didn't like the way it was, so I flipped it90 degrees counter-clockwise, then I moved it a little bit to the left. Then a layer mask since I didn't like it over Harry. I erased over him til I got this:

Next, my fave stock photo set to Soft Light 100%. (I can only guess, but I think on the original, I might of lowered the saturation on it)
Then I took another picture of Harry, applied a black and white gradient map and then changed the contrast settings (contrast at -50) to make it look something like this:
Then I c&p'ed it (after merging all layers) onto the wallpaper and moved it to the right and set it to Soft Light 100%
For the little lines on the side, I picked out the three colours from the background and Harry's cape/cloak/superhero thing (red=#9a0e1c, yellow=#c69d35, blue=#698199). Then I set the layer to Hard Light 100%
I wanted it to be a bit "smoother" looking, so I applied a layer mask and used a black and white gradient over it so that it looked like this:
For the text, I used Portishead Dummy in black, with "The Difference between who you are" in 30px, and "and Who you Need to be" in 50px.
