[bay area] Housing
I need a place to live this summer. I'll be working on Page Mill Road in Palo Alto, so I would prefer to live in Palo Alto/Mountain View/Los Altos. Commuting is what drove me out of the Bay Area the last time, so I am loath to live any farther away than that, particularly with gas prices being what they are (and what they will be by summertime). Also, preferably the pretty/280 side of the area rather than the ugly/101/85 side, but beggars can't be choosers, I suppose.
If you have a spare room or know someone who does, please tell me! I'd be happy to split a place with a Google intern, take over a sublet for a Stanford student who'll be gone during the summer, or suchlike. Ideal dates: Memorial Day to early September (flexible). Rents seem to have gone up since I last lived in the area, but I guess I'd be willing to pay up to $850-$900/month. *cringe* (I paid $550 for a sizeable room in a lovely house in Los Altos 3 years ago. WTF, Bay Area.)
