Had a lovely evening with wanderinglena yesterday. We dined at Julia's, then stopped off at Dilettante on our way home to get some of the best hot chocolate I have ever drunk. She was very understanding about my complete failure at time management, read: ignoring her the rest of the night to write a paper draft that was due today while she and stolen_tea watched The Brave Little Toaster. I got in a 2-hour nap before seeing wanderinglena off at Sea-Tac this morning as the sun was coming up, then sat in morning rush hour highway traffic for the first time in recent memory, got home, wrote some more, submitted the almost-complete draft at 9:30, got on the bus at 9:50, went to class, slogged through 2 hours of peer- and quietly mournful self-review of our drafts, met with the TA for a bit after class to get some tips for improvement, then came home and went to bed. 3 hours later I felt powered-up again, though I failed to use my afternoon to get other stuff done.

It was so great spending time with you, wanderinglena! I hope your flight went smoothly! I don't think we spent much, if any, time just the two of us together at St Andrews, so it was so nice to finally have the opportunity to do so. And now that there's this little node of Caer Caledonians in Connecticut (say *that* three times fast), I guess I'd better come visit sometime! :D Meanwhile, I have *got* to go to that Russian bakery by Pike Place Market...

Now I'm about to head over to markedformetal's book reading at Elliot Bay. Exciting! After that, either go play Risk with law students (why does this sound like a recipe for disaster?) or come home and do the stuff I could have done instead of napping. Whoooee!

you fail, school, st andrews, friends
