So, google news keeps bringing up articles on Nguyen Tuong Van, the drug smuggler who was hanged for trafficking drugs in Singapore.
I wanted to look into more information on it, and came across this

As much as I dislike the death penalty, it's quite apparent that Singapore doesn't want people trafficking drugs, and they mean business. It also seems that Nguyen isn't not guilty. He committed the crime.
I'm torn on this. I don't buy the fact that he needed to cover a 25k debt to save his drug addict brother and thereby decides to commit a crime in "We Cane You For Egging Cars" Singapore. I don't care how desperate you are, i'll take debtor's prison(assuming they have such a thing still) over doing anything illegal in Singapore.
