Most importantly, a HUGE Thank You to shanachie_quill for editing and making me finish this in a timely fashion! :D

Oliver wanted to hurt someone. No, he needed to hurt someone for what they've done to her. With his jaw clenched, he watched and waited for her to open her eyes.

"She'll be fine, Ollie."

He never heard Laurel walk into the room. He was too distracted. Oliver knew he needed to focus on how to fix everything, for Felicity, for the city, but he couldn't move.

Laurel stood beside Oliver and gently touched his arm.

He flinched.

She pulled away from him and folded her arms. "I'm sorry, Oliver." She looked at Felicity and then turned her gaze back toward Oliver. "She will be okay. You got her out, she's safe now and I know she'll be fine." Laurel wanted to help him but had no idea how.

"You don't know that, Laurel." His tone was filled with anger and frustration. "I never should have...damn it, I knew better. I told her before this was not a good idea and now..." his voiced trailed off as he closed his eyes.

"Oliver?" Diggle made his way back to the lair and his heart ached for his friend. "Laurel's right. You know Felicity will wake up any minute and then she'll be yelling at you."

"No, Dig, I don't know that." Oliver could barely speak above a whisper. He couldn't picture her waking up in a few minutes much less yelling at him. All he could see was Felicity, his girl, motionless on the table.

"Oliver..." Diggle planned to explain how strong Felicity is and how she was much too stubborn to give up but he didn't have a chance to.

Oliver turned quickly and walked toward Diggle. He grabbed his friend's arm when he reached him. "No, I don't know that she'll wake up any minute. I hope she does, I need her to but no, I'm not certain she is going to wake up any time soon. She's not like us and she hasn't had the training we've had. She can't fight like we can." Oliver was angry and taking his anger out on the wrong person. He wasn't mad at Diggle, Oliver was mad at himself because it was all his fault.

"Shhh." She was trying to open her eyes and speak but it wasn't working out so well for her. "I'm okay," she mumbled.

Oliver's eyes widened as he turned toward Felicity. He was by her side in an instant and held her hand. "Felicity."

"Yeah. And don't yell at Diggle." She tried to open her eyes but it felt like someone glued them shut.

"I know. I shouldn't take my anger out on anyone else when it's my fault." Oliver smiled and shook his head. Even at a moment such as this, Felicity made him smile. "What do you need?" he asked as he watched her try to sit up. "No, don't move, just stay still until we can check and make sure you're okay."

She slowly turned and gave him one of her typical looks. This one let him know that she definitely thought he was being silly and she would sit up if she wanted.

"No. I am not letting you move until we make sure you're okay." Oliver gently touched her cheek and looked at the wound on her head. "I'm so sorry."

"Not your fault."

"Yes, it is and you know it is."

"Oliver," Diggle interrupted. "I think we are going to let her say whatever she wants to say, and then later we can gently explain who's at fault."

Oliver looked at his friend and sighed. "Okay. No arguing."

"Hey, let's get you cleaned up." Laurel smiled at Felicity and looked at Oliver. "She needs a washcloth, warm water, antiseptic, antibacterial soap or whatever else you have that you think she might need." She waited a moment for Oliver to let go of Felicity and when he didn't, she said, "Ollie, please?"

He looked at Laurel as he let her words sink in. "Right." He brought his gaze back to Felicity and said, "I'll grab everything and I'll be right back." Oliver and Diggle both realized Laurel wanted to speak to Felicity so they took their time as they searched for the items they needed.

When they were out of earshot, Laurel leaned down and asked, "Where do you hurt? I know you're not okay."

She squeezed her eyes closed and whispered, "Everywhere," before she opened her eyes and looked at Laurel.

"Okay, I'm going to check what I can see and when they get back, I'm asking for a more comfortable place to get you fixed up because I assume Oliver is not going to want you going very far." As Laurel looked at Felicity's bruised and bloodied body, she winced. "I'm so sorry, Felicity."

"Hey, it's obviously not easy dating Oliver, right?"

Laurel couldn't help but laugh. "Exactly." She looked at Felicity and wanted to make sure there were no weird feelings about anything. "I'm okay with it, the two of you. I think you're good for him and I'm glad he can finally see that."

"Well, it was one date and it wasn't much more than any other time we'd be out somewhere eating together, alone, because Dig was somewhere else doing something."

"No, that was a real date. You both got all dressed up and you look beautiful, by the way."

"Yeah, blood and all, I'm sure."

Laurel smiled and leaned toward Felicity. "I'll get you fixed up and you'll be beautiful again in no time. We do need to keep an eye on that head wound."

"Yeah, my head feels like someone is cutting it in half." Felicity was trying her best to focus on the good things like being alive and able to speak but it was hard to focus with the pain she was experiencing.

Oliver and Diggle were quietly searching for everything Laurel would need and Oliver tried his best to hear what the women were saying.

"She'll be okay. She's awake now and that's a good sign."

"But she's in so much pain." Oliver couldn't hide the concern in his voice.

"And we'll give her meds and we'll bandage her up and she'll be back to her usual adorable self in no time. We'll watch her and make sure she stays awake. If it looks like she needs more help than we can give, you know we'll get her to the hospital immediately. I don't care what questions they might ask, if she needs to go, she goes." Diggle was uncertain if his words were reassuring to Oliver, but he had to try. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, Dig, I'm fine." Oliver scanned his own body after realizing he hadn't thought about making certain he didn't have injuries of his own before adding, "I guess the blood is hers." He closed his eyes and lowered his head. "God, John, I never wanted to say that." Oliver looked at his friend before adding, "Never wanted to say that about Felicity."

"I know, man. But look, she's talking to Laurel and making sense. You know that's a good thing. And she's trying to sit up again so she must think she has the strength to do that."

"Or she's just that stubborn," Oliver said as he made his way back over to the table. "Okay. I think we have everything you need."

"I need to get her somewhere a little more comfortable."

"Uh, the cot?"

"No," Felicity stated.

Oliver looked at her and asked, "Why not?"

She tilted her head and gave him her best 'what in the world are you thinking having me lay down on the cot you shared with Sara?' look she could muster. "No."

Realization hit and Oliver smiled. "Right." He looked around. "Blankets. Your blankets from the cabinet. We'll grab the blankets and you can lay on top of them right here."

"Good," she replied and smiled to reward him.

Laurel and Diggle looked at one another before they fixed their gazes back on Oliver and Felicity, both unsure about what was so wrong with the cot. Laurel watched Oliver as he retrieved the blankets and as he set them on the table it hit her. "Oh."

Oliver chuckled. "Yeah, no cot," he whispered to Laurel before he said, "I'll lift her up and you two can arrange the blankets."

"Gently," Felicity insisted.

Oliver sighed. "Do you really think I wouldn't be gentle with you?"

She smiled and couldn't stop the blush in her cheeks.

"You know what I mean." He shook his head before he tilted it and looked at Felicity.

"See what I've had to deal with the last two years while we waited for this night to happen? The innuendos, both of them staring at each other, the smiles when they're in a room together, it's all been driving me crazy." Diggle shook his head, grabbed a blanket and waited for Oliver to pick Felicity up so they could take care of her.

Laurel giggled as she grabbed a blanket. "They're always like that?"

"Yes."

"Hey." Oliver tried his best to glare at Diggle but he knew it was useless. "Whatever. Are the two of you ready? I don't want to hold her very long."

"Gee, thanks."

"No, I mean...."

"She knows what you mean, Oliver. She knows you think it is better that she's lying down and not moving around. We all know what you mean. Pick her up before I do it myself." Diggle glared.

"Okay." Oliver placed his arms under Felicity the best he could, waited for her to wrap her arms around him and slowly lifted her. He held her close and sighed as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"We're good," Diggle said and watched as Oliver moved her gently back to the table.

He leaned over her and quietly asked, "Are you doing okay?"

She breathed out what he thought was a yes before she closed her eyes.

"Hey, you need to stay awake, okay?" Oliver tried not to sound worried.

"I am. It hurts. Focusing on good things instead of the pain."

"Before you share, we do not need to know what good things you're focusing on," Diggle insisted as he helped Laurel figure out where to start. "You take care of that head wound, I'll check her legs and Oliver, you keep her occupied on something other than the pain." He looked at his friend and saw that Oliver was doing just that. "Good. Already on it." Diggle gently touched Felicity, making certain whatever injuries he found, they could take care of right there. He was worried about her head wound and the fact that she was out for so long but they'll take turns keeping an eye on her and she should be fine. There were too many questions they couldn't answer if she went to the hospital.

"It really hurts," Felicity said.

"What hurts?" Oliver asked.

"Everything. Everywhere. Oliver, I just hurt all over." She tried but couldn't pinpoint one part of her body that hurt worse than the rest. Felicity focused on his eyes and when she could no longer take them looking through her into her soul, she tried focusing on something else. She chose wrong because she chose his mouth.

"What?" Oliver questioned.

"What what?" Felicity asked.

Oliver chuckled. "You have this odd look."

"Well, I, uh, I was..."

"Didn't I mention that we didn't want to know what you were focusing on, Felicity?" Diggle told her.

"Yeah," Felicity replied.

"Yeah. So, stop sharing," Diggle continued.

Laurel smiled and said, "She was technically so engrossed in whatever she was focusing on, she forgot how to speak so she didn't share."

Diggle looked at Laurel and raised one eyebrow. "Really? Enough of that. Do you want to know what part of Oliver she was focusing on that had her flustered this time?"

"Probably not," Laurel agreed.

"Look. Can we just focus on Felicity and take care of her instead of trying to figure out what she's doing to forget the pain?" Oliver glared at both Diggle and Laurel before bringing his gaze back to Felicity. "Sorry. They both apologize."

Felicity smiled at Oliver and said, "It's okay." As she remained still, allowing them to take care of her. It seemed like hours before they had her cleaned and bandaged.

"There. As beautiful as ever."

Oliver smiled at Felicity and looked at Laurel as he thanked her.

"I've got to check on some things. If you need anything, call me." Laurel smiled at Oliver and Felicity before saying goodbye to Diggle and heading up the stairs.

"Yeah, I'll be back. I"ve got to..." Diggle made a motion as he started to leave.

"It's okay, Dig. Thanks." Oliver nodded to him.

Diggle smiled and waved as he left.

"So, alone again," Felicity started.

"Are you okay? And be honest."

"Well, Did's super aspirin are beginning to work but I still hurt everywhere." She grinned. "I'll have more scars."

Oliver shook his head. "Yeah, you'll have more scars but I wish you didn't." He was holding her hand and tried to focus on her fingers as he spoke. "I told you once that I couldn't be with anyone that I could care for and after this, I..."

"No." She didn't let him finish.

"What?"

"No. I am not letting you get out of this."

"Not letting me?" Oliver questioned.

"That's right. I am not letting you get out of this. This, whatever this is, is whatever it will be. Crazy stuff happens and I know that. Crazy stuff has happened and we haven't gone out to dinner so why would tonight's dinner be different? Or should be different. I don't know. Anyway, you and me. This. Us. You asked me to dinner for a reason. I accepted for a reason. Give the reason a chance, Oliver." Felicity was trying her best to focus on Oliver but it was so hard to keep her eyes open. "Don't let this go, Oliver. I'm fine. I'll be fine. Diggle will give me pills until I don't hurt. Laurel will put Band-Aids on me. We need another dinner. Or a movie. Or go crazy and have both. At once. Or the same night."

"Okay, Felicity. I won't try to get out of this."

"Don't you lie to me." She looked at Oliver and smiled. "You wouldn't lie. You like me."

"You rest now. We'll talk about this, us, all of this later. You just rest now." Oliver sighed and watched Felicity. He knew she was right. He knew if he was ever going to have a chance to live a normal life, he had to keep trying. He didn't want to let her go. Oliver knew in his heart he couldn't let her go so he decided to stay and fight for the possibilities the future might bring them.
