This evening we went out for dinner. I got to the school first and gathered Drew and his stuff from Preschool 1 and on our way downstairs we met up with Seaves who was on her way up to the classroom. We headed out and attempted to go to Olive Garden over by the mall in Okemos, but there were 50 bazillion people there all waiting around. Figures. It's Friday, dinnertime, and easily 15,000 (of the 46,000 total) of the students are back already. Move In Day is Sunday and I get to work for a while but that's a different story.
With Olive Garden out of the question, we trucked back over to Old Chicago because on the way to Olive Garden Drew saw a sign for Pizza House with a big picture of a pizza on it, and, I have to admit, it looked pretty tasty. So Old Chicago it was.
We got an appetizer of pretzels and cheese, and I had some microbrew's strawberry blonde which was delicious. Drew had both milk and apple juice. And he ate pizza. I had a "create my own calzone" with Italian sausage, green peppers, and mushrooms. Wow was that thing tasty. And big. And I ate all of it. And it has been expanding in my stomach right up to this moment. Seaves had spaghetti and meatballs and we discovered tonight that Drew likes spaghetti. When last we attempted spaghetti, it was a mess and a meltdown so we haven't offered it to him again since. But tonight, he liked it. Spaghetti is back on the menu! w00t!
On our way home we stopped at Insomnia Cookies which are pretty much the best store-bought cookies anywhere on the planet. They have a bunch of different kinds and then they serve them to you warm. Totally delicious. I'm in a food coma right now.
Drew said that he wanted to go to bed early so that he could wake up super early tomorrow for us to go get coffee. I hope he doesn't really mean "super early." I hope he means "at the regular early time" (or later).
