I've fallen into a rut of not really writing anything here (yet again) and not really writing e-mail to friends, but checking my e-mail about 475,698 times a day wondering why no one ever writes me. I know why they don't write me, it's because I don't write them.
Hundred million castaways, looking for a home...
It's dreary here again today but has not yet started raining. It's supposed to pick up around 1:30 or 2:00pm. But since they put the gutters on my house yesterday, BRING IT ON. Except I still don't have the fenders on my bike yet, so HOLD OFF ON THE HEAVY RAIN.
I recently had to get a new bike, because something broke on my old one and it couldn't be fixed. Something with the bottom bracket or whatever. Anyway, I got
a fancy new Specialized bike that is More Bike Than I Need (including disc brakes!), since it's for riding trails, etc. which I can never see myself doing. But I wanted a mountain bike still because I ride to work year round and I live in Michigan and skinny little tires would just not cut it once there's snow on the ground. Anyway, I want to put
big fenders on that cover maybe 1/3 to about 1/2 of the tires. I will probably be the only person in America to do this on this kind of a bike. Or maybe not, because there are no eyelets on my frame to which I can attach the fender stays that hold them in place. And that, my friends, is a bummer. For me. I guess I could try them without the stays and see how that works...or just one on one side. Or maybe zip ties. Hmm. More thought and ingenuity is required.
I'm considering working out at lunch today.
