So yesterday was pretty crappy. I'm not feeling great, but then I drank a Three Floyds' Robert the Bruce when I got home, which made me feel worse, and a little rumbly in my tumbly.
Also, the new (refurbished) computer that I ordered for pretty cheap from Dell still had not arrived. I received the additional RAM about 4 days after placing the order. But nothing on the computer. I'd been checking the status every day. I ordered it on the 4th, they indicated it would ship on the 9th. Then they updated that to the 11th. Then the 14th. The charge was sitting out on my credit card statement under the Temporary Authorizations. So I was like WTF?
Then yesterday, I log on and it tells me that the order has been cancelled. WTF?!? I get on the phone with Dell. They told me that the bank never approved the charge, so they cancelled the order. Again, WTF. I call my credit card company. They tell me that if it made it to the Temp. Authorizations stage, it was approved by them, but that approval was apparently never received by Dell's bank. Order cancelled, the "catch as catch can" machine was given to somebody else.
So I had to get back on the Dell Outlet site and try to find another computer that fit my needs and price range. The first one was $339. Yesterday, I could only find one for $439. Which made me angry, but I ordered it anyway...because I need/want a new effing computer!
So we'll see if they actually ship this one. I also checked the receipt on the RAM and I have to return it within 15 days if it doesn't work. Well, conveniently for Dell, that 15 days will be expired by the time I get the machine that it's supposed to be installed within. If it doesn't work, they will be the recipients of a strongly worded letter, let me tell you.
Oh, and then the worst part of it was that last night Drew woke up around midnight and wanted to play / didn't want to be in his crib alone. TWO AND A HALF HOURS of screaming later, he went back to sleep. I was up until about 4:15, though, making several unpleasant visits to the bathroom, all the while praying that I didn't wake Drew up again.
Rough night, people. Rough. (But for some reason, I came to work today...)
