Here's what I had to say about that yesterday, on somebody else's entry:
I'll put this bluntly:
The Bush Administration should personally apologize to each and every member of the United States Armed Forces.
It's ridiculously convenient to lambaste someone--who happens to be speaking the truth, just look at the recruiting statistics over the past 5 years--than to actually implement any policies that will reduce the strain on those in service and their families.
The Bush Administration has fucked the military in the ass and then told it to go cook dinner.
So pardon me if I don't get my panties in a bunch because Kerry said to study hard or you could end up in Iraq. The Chickenhawk Republicans have held the House, the Senate, and the White House for how long now? And what are they doing to ensure the safety of those in uniform? JACKFUCKINGSQUAT.
AND don't even get me started on John McCain and his capitulation to those forces in the Republican Party who insisted on watering down (water-boarding down, perhaps?) the language about the US' policy on torture. SHAME ON YOU, JOHN MCCAIN. SHAME AND ETERNAL SHAME.
"I think it also focuses on the President's own intemperate language," Dean told reporters this morning. "Saying that voting for Democrats is voting for the terrorists to win, I think is intemperate, especially coming from a guy who is criticising someone who did serve, and President Bush has never served."
