So Britain finds out that a bunch of people were planning on blowing up airplanes using liquid explosives, which apparently are easy to smuggle. But it also turns out that this very same plot was broken up in 1995. Now, today, there are reports like this one in the New York Times about the United States rushing to get the technology in place to scan for such explosives.
It's a simple question that I pose to our nation's leaders, particularly the Department of Homeland Security and the TSA: "WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN DOING FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS? I THOUGHT YOU WERE TAKING THIS SECURITY BULLSHIT SERIOUSLY EVER SINCE SEPTEMBER 11, 2001?"
I'm sorry to be so crazy about this, but COME ON. 11 years ago you discovered the threat of liquid explosives and we don't have the scanning technology in place at every airport in the free world to detect them yet? IS THIS COUNTRY BEING RUN BY ADULTS? Stop voting yourselves pay raises and take your jobs seriously. Please.
