I'm psyched to see it, but for many this is a "well, duh" film. I am very happy that so many people have seen and want to see this movie (and encourage others). Only good can come of it.

Personally, the fact that some older people are just now catching on is infuriating. As the kid of a senior research scientist at NASA, my dad having collected original data on the Antarctic and Arctic ozone holes, tropospheric chemical compositions over cities and hurricane strength data over the last thirty years... I saw him create several life's works on the government's command and dime only to have it refuted by numbskull administrators (or worse, presidents) on camera to the general public.

The CFC limitations in the eighties have recently proven to have worked to some effect in the Antarctic, proving we really can affect change-- but it took an administration to buy in for that to truly happen. I hope we can put the right pressure on the right players this time.

Anyway. Sorry to spill out a mini-rant in your blog. I'm looking forward to seeing this movie, hopefully with my dad in a couple of weeks.
