Quinn + Weis = Heisman + National Championship + #1 Draft Pick

May 10, 2006 12:54

I'm not an ESPNsider or whatever the "register to read more sports stuff" thing is, but I'm excited to hear that Mel Kiper has placed Brady Quinn as the prospective #1 overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. That means that he'll either be incredible this year and we'll be unstoppable, or he'll break a leg in 5 places in the first series of the first

nd football, dream a little dream with me

I predict that Tennessee will have the first overall pick next year, and they just drafted Vince Young. But if it's not them, I could definitely see Quinn going first.

Interesting side note... when you balance your equation, you end up with "Weis = National #1 Draft Pick." Math is weird! :)

Teams That Might Draft Quinn in 2007 bassmike May 10 2006, 20:24:03 UTC
Criteria: (1) Gotta suck in 2006 to have a high draft pick, (2) gotta need a QB because they either have (a) a crappy guy now, (b) a guy about to retire, (c) didn't pick up anyone in free agency, (d) a brand new coaching staff looking to make changes, and/or (e) didn't already draft a QB in the first couple rounds of the 2005 or 2006 drafts.

So, it's likely: Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs or Oakland Raiders.

I'm thinking Cleveland. They're going to get beat up by Pittsburgh and Cincinnati again, not make the playoffs, they need a QB, and there's the Charlie Weis-Romeo Crennel connections from New England.

Go Irish Go
