I'm feeling my fitness level slip away, and it's pretty much all my fault. I'm going to chalk it up as the perfect storm: a nagging over-use injury (left foot) combined with a staggering and practically debilitating allergy season. I suffer every time I run outside, both with physical pain and with upper respiratory problems later that day. I guess inhaling tons and tons of allergens doesn't lead to better breathing.
I've been self medicating, and not in the fun "you can be fired for that" way. I've been taking ibuprofen for my foot, and I've been taking generic Claritin (loratadine) and generic Sudafed to treat my allergy symptoms. I finally broke down and went to the injury clinic last week (slight improvement on my 6 mile run this weekend) and today I called my doctor for some prescription strength allergy stuff. I'm tired of getting ID'd everytime I need to pick up some pseudoephedrine at CVS (thank you, meth heads!).
But for the time being, every day that passes without a run just makes me feel like a big fat slacker.
my left foot,
big fat slacker,
running,
generic drugs,
what about running on a treadmill?,
meth heads ruined it for everybody
