So I picked up right where I left off. I ran 3 miles in 22:43 yesterday, then lifted. The lifting was a lot more difficult than the running. It seems that my upper body didn't have quite as far to slide before reaching "wickedly weak" status. But that's cool that I was lifting in Rolfs with all the buff ND kids. I didn't feel self-conscious at all about my tiny little amount of weight that I was struggling under. Not in the least. No, really.
I'm pretty sure that my shoes are only good for shorter runs. I'm not sure I'd set out on a 10 miler and feel good about my shoes. But I think anything 7 or under and they should be fine for another month or two. My ankle didn't hurt and my legs were only mildly tight. Overall, a pretty good re-entry into a regular running routine.
I think my favorite part of marathon training is tapering and the resting post-marathon. One day off for every mile raced. That's good stuff right there. :-)
