Tragedy
I was going to post a SXSW recap entry but I just learned that a dressage barn back home burned down today. Four horses were killed.
I used to keep my horses there back in high school. We had considered keeping our guys there this winter.
I'm pretty sure I knew one of the horses who died. Think I rode him once while home on winter break my freshman year of college. He was an absolute gem, and his owner is a wonderful person. My heart breaks for her.
Haven't found details about the other three but there's a good chance I knew some of them, too.
Even though I'm pretty removed from the dressage world these days, this news still feels like a knife to the gut.
My thoughts and love are with the dressage community back home, especially to those who lost their horses.
