Personality Field: Yanagi is all about the mind games. While Niou is the obvious trickster, whenever Yanagi steps up to the plate Rikkai comments on how 'cruel' he is. Part of Yanagi's ability to stay on top of things is his IQ and ability to gather data, and use it to his advantage, the other part is that people get thrown when you appear to 'read their mind' or accurately predict what they are going do to. Predicting someone's word choice is easy, once you have speech patterns down you can predict what they are going to say with a 95% chance of getting it right. (49.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot.)
Yanagi hates losing, or being wrong, but is better than most at accepting when he is. It takes a lot to shock or upset Yanagi. Sometimes he can be a little slow, his ability to predict events accurately catches up and bites him in the ass every once in a while. (Sometimes the opponent goes right, and sometimes when you know they will go right, they actually go left, and then you're screwed.) Yanagi is willing to accept the consequences for his actions, whether losing a tennis match, or missing a question on a test… or getting caught doing something he is not supposed to be doing.
Yanagi likes to call people by their first names. He feels it engenders a closeness that allows him to (torment people) gather better data.
