SO MUCH TALKING IN THIS POST YEESH. I just really felt like explaning my choices, feel free to skip. I started the round being really inspired and then, well it just kinda went downhill from there and I don't really like some icons in this batch but I wanted to finish it anyway SO ENOUGH TALKING ENJOY AND ALL THAT :3 ♥
MOVIES
01. across the universe: passage - of time. the movie shows very well how jude and lucy grow close and apart. the two pics in b&w are them separated around the end of the movie and the middle pics are the moment they fell in love.
02. jane eyre: gen. theme - this is my favourite scene of the movie. jane is such a strong character and to me this is the moment she shows it the most, in actions and words. she just defends her rights to be treated like any human being and not just like a woman or a employee. I just thought this scene was very powerful, her being so blunt and brave about her feelings. and the fact that rochester tells her that she'd be his equal and likeness was perfect.
03. little miss sunshine: texture - I think the rock of this movie is the family and this moment, even if it's really not the only moment when they show support for each other, is my favourite. this is what this family is about, being there for each other whatever happens.
04. pride & prejudice: mirror - this scene is my favooooooorite of the movie. in their actions and words and everything, they reflect each other so much. in the end of the movie when lizzie tells her father that her and darcy are so similar, well this scene right here, that's the proof. they have the same body language, THE EXACT SAME FEELINGS throughout the scene. the way they try to hide their feelings (lizzie first, then darcy when she rejects him) and how those feelings go from darcy to lizzie and back again during the whole scene makes it so intense (WHAT DO YOU MEAN I AM READING TOO MUCH INTO THIS)

05. being human: wallpapers - I guess what I tried to say through that is how george's life changed when he met nina. he was a loner and she changed him. the inspiration from the wallpaper was the whole geometry kinda feel but yeaaaah. does that make sense at all, that's the question.
06. doctor who: encompass - I didn't really know how to emcompass river song because she is so many amazing things so I went to the simplest version: she was the pond baby fashioned into a weapon, who became tons of things we don't even suspect yet, travelled through time and ended up sacrificing herself for the man she loved. I don't know if this icon really encompasses her entirely but for me she's the daughter of some of the doctor's best friend who grew up to be one of the most important people in his life aka wifey. yep.
07. doctor who: requiem - this is donna's last moment before she forgot all the things she lived with the doctor. I wanted to make it peaceful~ in a way, and not total chaos which is what this scene is to me weeping is always involved. I thought the texture was fitting because that's it really, that's what this moment is for her, the end of the storm. the doctor came in her life like a tornado, took her away and now, she's just going back to her life like nothing happened~ WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
08. doctor who: gen. theme - ugh go and try to summarize the doctor on a 100*100 canvas. UGH. there are so many things about this character that I love, I just have too many feelings. I found this cap perfect. first the fact that One and Eleven have years of age gap but that they still are the same person in a way sums up the show pretty well. I thought the cropped cap in itself was enough, but then I just wrote some words that reminded me of the doctor or the show in general. it's random. and silly.
09. doctor who: icons - I was trying to ~convey how much Amy is important to Rory. I guess the waiting around for 2000 years part was enough of a proof but he just constantly worries about her because he loves her so much. so these are kind of random caps of them but the random shows how weirdly common this is for them. she's a part of him and he just can't help being there for her whatever happens and being worried about her whenever she's in trouble. it made sense in my head. EDIT: AFTER EP 610, I THINK THIS MAKES MUCH MORE SENSE, RIGHT? RIGHT?
10. eureka: gen.theme - jack carter ladies and gentlemen. I don't know where I was going with this icon but I like itttt so I had to include it. this is basically a summary of eureka's pilot. Jack + Eureka = wtf just happened. and you'd think he'd get used to it. but nope.
11. firefly: heart - I just rewatched firefly and there are so many things I could have done to show the epitome of this show but AAAA SO. MANY. THINGS. what it came down to is this. malcom reynolds and his love for serenity. not only her as a ship but also as a home, for him and for his crew which is what I believe he loves the most, right up there with this firefly. I think serenity is more than just a ship, it ~encompasses everything: his life, his friends, his luuuuv~, the danger and the thrill, the death (FOREVER CRYING) and she's the heart of him, deep down. she carries everything he loves most so there. that's deep.
12. luther: howl - the lyrics speak so much to me about alice. we knew she was a psycho before she met luther, but meeting him was just releasing the bigger beast inside the russian doll (that doesn't make any. sense.). in an instant (literally I mean have you seen how she switched attitude when he figures her out ugh dyinnnnng) he becomes the center of her attention and she's pulled to him, he "is the moon for which she has to howl"! and she's literally like a beast (while you'd think he'd be the beast I mean have you seen how big he is?!!) but nope, she's tiny and she hangs on and she's not letting him go. is it really obvious that I love how they treated their relationship??
13. luther: devoid - yeah. so this kinda speaks for itself. or not at all. I feel like his character is so true and honest to what he believes in. as in devoid of any interests. he's not doing anything for him. I mean first he's a cop and that's certainly not for his own safety, then it's always about protecting others in spite of his own well being/carreer/life. he even protects alice. that's just what he is. and then I played with the fact that the icon is ~devoid of any other thing that would prevent you from focusing on that fine piece of english policeman.
14. luther: aftermath - oh god my love for justin. that poor thing seriously he follows john blindly (and he is quite right to) but all the consequences just fall on him. this is between s1 and s2 and how the end of s1 changed his life (to be saved again by john but that's cause john obviously has a soft spot for him because he's just so qt and who wouldn't want that qt on their team amirite).
15. luther: closure - I DON'T WANT TO CALL IT THAT AND I KNOW IT'S NOT CLOSURE REALLY but it fitted. it really isn't easy to figure out but the bottom picture is john sleeping on his couch like the qt giant bear he is. and I just felt like alice telling him goodbye was a way for him to finally close something (like his eyes, and finally take a nap). and also I don't want this to be the last we'll see of her and IT WON'T OK I WON'T LET SEASON 3 BE PSYCHO!ALICE-LESS. but this is also about her ending her one-way relationship with him (just when he was starting to go down the road too, ANYWAY) so this is closure for her too.
16. sherlock: photo - idek what happened. that icon is a total experiment. it's supposed to show sherlock and john taking over the city-world idek. it's just that _together_ they can confront so much. and also that top cap is really sexy ok.
17. skins: death - this is also the epitome of friendship and love. this scene was so gorgeous and heart breaking and just, gah, so many feelings. this was an amazing way to say goodbye to their friend and the speech Jal gives and just everyone being there, aaaaa. so my point behind this was that death isn't only about who dies but also who gets left behind and how they deal with that. and this group was the perfect example of how their friend's death was a new start for all of them to move on and try to figure things out. idk.
18. sons of anarchy: reunite - this is kind of spoilery for SoA 401. so the background pics are jax & tara ~reuiniting after years apart. and the smaller pics are jax and tara ~uniting (finally!!1!!!) after years(ish) together.
19. tscc: icons - so much pressure for such a qt faceeee. seriously thinking about summarizing John Connor and that's the only thing I came up with. that's the first icon I made and the best I've made for this batch me thinks. it's just the point of John really, to be a leader, a savior and to kick some robotic asses while he's a it. I'm just really proud of this icon because I feel like there's not much more to say (still, watch me ramble), he's just literally carrying the fate of the world on his shoulders.
20. tscc: empty - ok that one's easy. she's chip-less so she's ~empty (MOLGA DON'T CRY) and I chose negative space for now obvious reason but since we're epitoming here, the background is the note she left to John because since we're trying to summarize tscc characters here, well cameron can be summarized by "john". as much as his whole point is to save the world, her whole existence is dedicated to protect his. AND THAT JUST MAKES THE FINALE EVEN MORE HEARTBREAKING. AND IT MAKES JOHN/CAMERON EVEN MORE OTP.
