She was laughing so much her ribs hurt and he kept dragging her by the hand, always running, almost breathless. They stopped and he pulled her towards the smallest road on the right. After a while they stopped running, she was gasping for air and he was still hanging at her hand, clenching and mindlessly rubbing the back of it. She pretended not to notice so he wouldn’t feel embarrass and stop. “This was a good idea!” he said, looking like a disheveled puppy. She smiled back, that big, giant smile that made his hearts swell. His eyes trailed on her face, how little she had changed. “Ready to run again?” she chuckled. He sighed and started running first, dragging her along again, avoiding cracks in the pavement and making sure her hand never left his.

« Hello, Starbuck ».
She turned around, hand on her holster. “Who the frak are you?!” He chuckled. “Oi now, let’s keep it light.” He looked weird. She told him so. He smiled. “Why are you smiling? And what. Are. You doing. On this ship?”
He took a moment to look at her, all dressed up, ready to stand in line with all the other pilots and look proud. “Why don’t we go somewhere?” He was looking straight into her eyes, head tilted on the side. He tried not to look too smug about making Kara Thrace flinch.
“Excuse me?” “Go somewhere, leave this place… I could take you… well anywhere, really. I’m offering you all of time and space, if you would just step- yes?” Her mouth was open but no sound was coming out. “What is this?” she was pointing to the huge weird blue box that she only noticed now was standing behind the weird dude. “Oh now that, that’s my girl.” He was petting the side of the box with a content smile. “She’s my little battlestar if you will. Would you care to visit?” “I’m late.” She didn’t mean to bark at him, she was just confused and she didn’t like that very much. She turned her back to him and kept walking along the corridor.
“Oh, come on now, Starbuck, you know you want to visit planets and discover… things and see the universe! It’s just one step away….” His voice trailed off as he was gesturing towards the box and she turned around, rolling her eyes. “You’re very bad at this.” “Oh, give me some credit; it’s not easy convincing people who are already in space. I’m used to humans humans, the earthlings ones!”
She stepped closer, surprised. “Earth-what?” “Oh, right. Yes. Of course. You’re not quite there yet, are you… Oh well, come along, Thrace.” “I’m not going anywhere with you.” “Or are you…” He winked and opened a door in the side of his box. “They can wait.” He said gesturing towards the hall full of people at the far end of the corridor and jumped in the box.
“Hey wait!” She came closer to the box. His hand came out, grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her inside the TARDIS.
