john mccain and enthusiastic republicans

enthusiastic republican speeches are kind of funny if you think about it. most political speeches that get people excited are about change. since the republican party and status quo politics are so fundamentally co-dependent, i feel that most of the time when they have moving speeches they're usually about what would happen if something changed or how the changes that have taken place are bad. but john mccains victory speech tonight was about how proud he was to be a republican and about changing the party back to what he thought it was when he first heard reagan speak and what not and it was a good speech, relatively speaking. but the reaction from a crowd of republican mccain supporters was hardly the brew-haha that obama got from his speech at the DNC in 04 and nothing like what bill clinton gets when he speaks somewhere. just a couple of lame white people. can you imagine the cheer from the one guy that mccain illicited with "and i am extremely proud to be a conservative republican"? it sounded like this, "Whoooo!" in case you couldn't tell that sounds like coors light, a hugh pickup truck and a tacky wife.

so i'm predicting mccain guiliani for the republicans (actually now that i think about it he's already seen as too liberal for most 'publicans and rudy is pretty socially lib too so maybe not. but since he is dropping out and supporting mccrotchety i guess that's why i said that. i'll stick with it.)

nothing on the dems yet.
