(no subject)
Hi!
So, I met a boy... just over 3 months ago. He's awesome! His name is Tom. :-)
School has been better than last year, but it's still rough. Now its getting just awful. I've been out of my room for a week because of mice. There were 4 of them in my room last week. They fed them poison.. at least one crawled under a BUILT IN and died- a week ago. Today, I stopped at my door and smelled it before I even opened the door. Needless to say, I didn't open the door. My kids were split up among the other classes today. Other teachers/assistants were pissed off about it, but whatever. They are inconvienced because they have to have 4 extra children in their room. Well, at least they have a room right now. Our buildings head custodian/building supervisor told me that they have a work order in.. and they are probably going to have to rip out the cabinets to find it.. and then Lord only know what they will find. Or when I'm going to be back in my room. I was SOOOO Sick of all the crap being said today. Every time I turned around my "team" was making another complaint. Did any of them stop to think about how I feel right now? How big of an inconvience this is for ME and MY KIDS??? I mean I asked for this, right? I said please let my room become infested with mice and then let one die under a cabinet where we can't get it out so they are going to have to come in and rip out the cabinets... YES, PLEASE! Because this is the ONLY thing I wanted this year. :-( Thats what a few of my team members are making me feel like... like it's MY fault and I asked for this.
Let me make the situation a little better here.... I've been out of ink for my printer (at school) for like 3 months now (lots of other teachers are running out of ink, and paper too)... so now I can't really print my lesson plans unless i go to the library but then our librarian gets upset if people print too much... I have no way to print things in color.. I don't have a smart board (only 2 classrooms don't).. I can't print much at home because I don't have the $$ to buy ink so I'm finding it difficult to come up with ways to teach my kids the things I'm supposed to be teaching them. I have VERY few resources in my classroom... lots of broken stuff... it's just a REALLY difficult situation. We have mold in our school, my windows leak whenever it rains (as do many other rooms)...
I am just frustrated right now. I am incredibly thankful I have a job and I love my kids (most of them)... I just want back in my CLEAN, DRY, STINK FREE, RODENT FREE room... is that too much to ask?
EDIT: They found the dead one today.. and it wasn't a mouse. It was a rat. Yes.... I had a large dead RAT in my room. This also tells me that all of those "mice" we had last week weren't really mice..... I had a feeling they were baby rats. Their tails were just toooooo long to be mice. :-( I teach 3 year olds in a rat infested classroom. I don't even want to know what has ended up in their mouths anymore.... :-( That makes me really sad.
