Niiiiice. You know, I'm really not a huge McCoy fan. He's part of TOS big three, and he's movie!Kirk's best friend but that's about it for me. I like his take on things here though. He's a dedicated doctor ( ... )

Oh, yeah, thanks for the Sarek and Amanda mentions. (He and Amanda are my OTP so I love any mention of either of them.) And he's the legal next-of-kin. Some people kind of blow him off as the disapproving father (and not Spock's "real" family), but I think there's more there. He's a loving father with no idea how to show it and he thinks he knows what's best for his son.

Oh, I think for sure Sarek cares about Spock! It seemed pretty obvious in the Reboot version but even in "Journey to Babel," Amanda notes how proud Sarek is of all Spock has accomplished. I imagine Sarek would be absolutely devastated if something happened to Spock, especially so soon after Amanda's death. Yes, what you said about Sarek is exactly how I think of him.

Well, I'm glad you've stuck with such a McCoy-heavy story! Idk, I just like using other characters as a way of offering a different lens on the S/U relationship.

Yes, I know I'm offering a different view of Spock that is not...popular, but he comes off as such a good mentor to me that I can't imagine him interacting with the crew members merely at a distant. I really do see him as a guide to anyone willing to let him guide them. That's why I started off with the junior science officer.

No, we aren't done yet, I've got 8 pages to edit and post but soon, this week. Thanks for taking the time to comment and let me know what you enjoyed!

I'd hope that even though your view of Spock is not common that its not actually unpopular. I agree; he wouldn't have been a decent teacher (assuming he was one) without being a mentor.
