Nyota thinks they were destined for each other. Finding out that in some alternate reality, Kirk still captained the Enterprise, Spock was his First Officer, and everyone else was positioned in the same station - but they were never together, burns like a star dying before its birth.
How can it be destiny if they were not together?
Are they the flaw in this timeline?
Spock shushes her, his voice soft but certain in her mind. More likely, he tells her, that is the flaw in that timeline.
